Last week I was concerned I was in too competitive of a market with over 41,000,000 sites listed in Google for "ecommerce web hosting". I definitely was not in the top 100 as of last Friday. Today I decided to check up on it, little to my surprise i'm #29 on the 3rd page. Granted, this won't be bringing me tons of traffic, but at least I know i'm headed in the right direction.
Good job, you're moving in the right direction. Once you get in the top 100, moving to the 1st page is not too difficult with some link building.
I'd agree, first page isn't hard, but from what I've seen, only the first 3-5 listings usually bring in any real traffic... Of course, there are those weird exceptions when you'll get a click from a weird keyword that you rank in the hundreds for...
Thanks guys, yeah, i've looked and reviewed some of my competition up at the top and really a lot of them don't have a ton of backlinks and aside from the keywords coming up on their frontpage it doesn't appear they've done much to rank very high. I'm trying to come up with my next move, i've heard several people say that buying links was bad for SEO. Do you guys agree even if it is on a web hosting related website?
congratulations great job. I agree with machinecontroller you need some good quality links move to top rank.
job well done for you,. the next thing to do is to maintain it or rank more. Its doesn't guarantee you that tomorrow will give you same result.
