Well I have checked my competition for this type of product. There are millions of results for almost any type of my media or media script search results and the 5 or 6 that market media scripts are all there. We vary in position but usually all 1st page results. The products are so close that a joint venture would probably be out of the question. Mailing lists I have several and returning minimal results. Thanks for the hints and I will check that pm.
Have you thought about offering it on DealDotCom for a day? All but guaranteed wide exposure, if it's good, and it sells, people will more than likely blog about it. Just an idea.
uhmm.. it's similar to my problem, perhaps you can see some services offered here in DP, like blog posts etc, I'm not sure how effective it is, guess it depends on your product anyway.
Perhaps you should look into websites that offer similar products to yours rather then direct competitors and then try to set up a joint venture with them?
some say adword good , some say not. which way should i go? As i know , if no experience adword user, target those common word, can clean your pocket within a week.
Great idea. But also consider the not so popular established sites yet on your niche. Top sites sometimes tend to ignore JV's since they receive a lot of them. Make sure it doesn't look spammy..
I am going to look into that DealDotCom. Adwords is out of the question for me, to expensive at this time. Its hard targeting the right market so the only good solution is to flood the relevant search results with the product, in my case my media script. You know the internet is like an ocean. In order to catch the fish you either needs lots of bobbers in the water, or just the right bait.
If your looking for immediate results adwords delivers. It can be expensive depending on the market. The only way to find out if it's worth it or not is to try it out.
I'm not sure about top sites here, or do I have different perception of topsites? could you give some examples of topsites that you mean? Can't agree more, the problem is where to find the right bait at most affordable cost. I have been trying to use adwords, since I think it can spread across the ocean, but setting the keywords etc is quite a bit pain in the a..
I have had good experiences with AdWords and bad ones, too. It really depends on your product, your market, the competition, your web content, your ability to write compelling text ads, etc. The good thing is that you can try it out for a very limited daily budget and see how it goes.
jrbiz, how can you try it out for a limited budget? as my experience if I don't put high bid then adwords even wouldn't show the ads at all.
Well, everything depends upon your market of course, but try what Google calls 'higher quality' keywords and bid them low. For example 'golf clubs' would be a competitive (i.e., expensive) keyword, but 'seven-iron golf clubs' would likely cost less and fit better into a small budget.
do you offer affiliate commission? you can look for some serious JV partners who could endorse your product to their subscriber lists. That can give you big sales in a short time without spending additional money for ads. cheers thomas
