Never really had the time for a Mac, very overpriced for what they are. Plus Mac's aren't really popular over in the U.K. so finding a shop to repair/fix or accessorise would be very hard.

But, with a PC, I can easily upgrade and repair myself with ease, so Vista for me. Don't want a dual-boot, I am happy with my Windows XP for now. Vista will be when I buy my new PC.

The thing is, people don't realise the balance between the operating system and the hardware. Mac and Windows simply have different requirements. So whilst a Mac may technically have less powerful hardware, it still runs faster than similarly priced PC's.

most likely if servers were included that number would be lower but it doesn't stop the fact that people are trying OSX even if they don't like it and switch back

I did, I made the switch to OS X and I couldn't be any happier. I've been a PC user for nearly 14 years and I will NEVER buy another PC in my life.

    My mac is amazing.

Show me the figures. I need proof. You are not the first person to say that. So far no one has shown me any. The latest was just under 7%.

there is a pretty big disparity in these figures, some say 2.5%, other go several percentage points higher. which of these, if any are correct?

2.5% of global sales and about 7% of US sales. That is not a high variation. Read the articles.

OK I showed my proof prove me wrong.
