As a part of this DP forum, it's incredible how the vast majority of users (I believe) are men. What happened to those famous women webmasters? (except Jerelene, most of them are not that much active)
I think its pretty much a lot of girls are webmasters. They just dont want to known as a women on forums. You dont see much "girlpower" usernames haha.
I agree that they are many women webmasters here. They just don't have girl user names that gives their gender away.
Good spot. Women aren't too much into blogging, webmastering and coding methinks. Although I might be wrong.
disagreed, I own www.bloggertalk.com and about half of the members seem to be female ... I mean the real members, the signature spammers with their viagra blogs are normally male.
Lol. What I actually intended to say is that for every 200 men who are into webmastering, there are say 50 women doing the same thing. Now consider that 5% of the webmasters are on DP, that still implies that for every 10 men on DP there are 2.5 women. Err....2.5....it wasn't intentional I assure you. So there will always a gender bias.
i know a lot of women are so i highly doubt its true maybe they just dont have girl names like pinky, flowerly bubblepies you know but im sure as much as you think males are more interested with computers so are women, maybe a stat somewhere can help this topic?
I think that the women have figured out a smarter, better way to earn a living than sitting around staring at a computer screen all day long. Not to say that there aren't plenty of great female webmasters but the OP does have a point in that there seems to be more male webmasters out there. Bloggers I wouldn't say one way or the other.
Girls just don't have girl user names that gives their gender away. And there is good thing about it. They dont keep the men distracted all the time. lol
You have got the point, chant. I believe girls have other interesting things to do than sit all day long in front of the screen.
Check with http://blogher.com you will find there many women bloggers and webmasters, that's nice community for women I ever seen.
Even many of the Female ID's are being used by guys. Girl Power. Women should realy get into business. They get preferences for being female. Honestly!
Although men outnumbered the women webmaster, they (woman) perform better than their counterpart (man)
