spamming in yahoo chat room is Bad

I know spamming is bad idea to promote site , but still i do in yahoo (programming) chat rooms, even after yahoo introduce captcha authentication while entering in chat room , as my intension is just to increase my revenue.

I Spam from my different yahoo ID (which I dont care if they ban it) but they know my other real yahoo ID where all my personal information is stored, and i really care this ID.

One day i got mail from yahoo company, to stop "spammin" ,since then I dont Spam directly.

I want to know in what way yahoo can go against me if i continue my bad habit :"> .

They can contact your ISP and possibly get you booted off the internet, And depending on your local laws may get you put on a blacklist which other ISPs can look at. No ISP wants to give internet access to a spammer.

They can also contact whoever hosts your sites and notify them.
it's also possible that if you run adsense they could contact adsense and get your account suspended. Spamming is against adsense terms.

Yeah, spamming is really annoying. All you need is some basic SEO, great content and the people will enventually start coming in. Word of mouth also works wonders.

spamming yahoo chat is also kind of "word of mouth"! :p

stop spamming, it dosenot works! the ads company that you are using, like adsense etc will sure ban you! also your site gets a bad image of a spammer, so it's better to avoid this "chat spam stuff" and get some SEO going:)

Yes if this is a big problem they will get your ip (unless your on a proxy :)). and contact your isp to boot you off and probably have law suits all over you.

SPAM - is bad business netiquette and belongs in a can..

Put your thoughts together and spend that energy and writing talent, used for drawing up all the spam and spend it on making something worth while! Like a quality website or blog with good articles and content. Could even probably get work or a real job by writing on other blogs if you did not want one yourself..

Time to wake up and face the music.. Do something more worth while... spam is nothing but chicken shit.

The other possibility might be that you just enter the chat room and go with the conversation for a little bit, and then post the site as something that you thought they'd like/find useful/need opinions about/whatever excuse you can think of. It still isn't a great way to build real traffic though.

All very unlikely though, besides chatroom spamming isnt illegal as far as im aware and would not get you blacklisted, they will just ban your account unless you do something stupid like spam something illegal.
They obviously have thousands of people spamming chatrooms, answers, email etc a day to contact all their isps, webhosts etc would be a waste of time and money.

Ya, I think they will just ban your account, and/or any other account they find suspicious. I'm not sure if they do anything more.

Your probably wasting more time than it's worth. Why not just try some legitimate ways to promote a website. Spamming is just a crappy alternative that doesn't really work.
