I think he actually said it here at DP. I didn't look up the post - too tired.

Mr. Cutts is a member here, and even though he posts infrequently, he did mention at the end of August or beginning of September that it would be AT LEAST several weeks, and probably longer, before a toolbar PR update would take place.

Get it right sundaybrew, he said I don't expect it in the next two weeks and that was nearly 4 weeks ago. Here is the quote:

"As far as the toolbar PageRank, I definitely wouldn't expect to see it in the next few days. Probably not even in the next couple weeks, if I had to guess."

    From this thread:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=4391628

On September 6th. He hasn't said anything on his blog I don't think.

Judging from the air of desperation in some recent threads, a few people probably are.

If memory serves me correct, Cutts said not to expect TB PR export in the next few days, and he would be surprised if it it occured in the next couple of weeks.

That was two weeks ago, so the timing would be right... Regardless, I have seen no change on any of my sites or sub pages....

Yes good catch, it seems like they are possibly testing some paid link dampening factors.

phpbb.com and statcounter.com have changed, these two have alot of links that could be seen as paid. phpbb with their sitewide footer link and duplicate anchor text, and Statcounter with their 1x1 image links.

On the other hand Archive, Apple & MSN are not likely to have paid links plus have a natural link profile. So this bunch of sites would provide a good cross section... Either that or it's a PR recalibration and there's not enough to go around, so they had to skim some off the big boys to give to us bottom feeders. :D

Interesting their cracking down on paid links. Which is stupid, in the end its going to be impossible to stop paid links.

They really just want people to trust their system, as long as people think that there aren't any paid links out there, google is satisfied

cracking down paid links is a smart move by G
originally PR certainly was intended for natural generic popularity of a site and not at all for purchased/artificially inflated link-popularity by rich ones who could afford to buy links or by those who created link-exchange networks to create artifcial links by the thousands.

PR with $-links compensation may approach or result again in a (near) natural popularity of a site. when is just a matter of time to have an updated PR taking all link-exchange programs and tools / networks into account.

soon enough all the money spent on purchased links may be eventually wasted $ and those site owners having spent the same amount to CREATE value content in exchange may be rewarded by a honest PR reflecting their true popularity among real surfers.

Yeah, its quite helpful. Good PR helps a lot when you are link trading as well.
