And here I thought the phone and or cable company gave you the shaft on the 'ol..."we'll be there sometime between 8am and 8pm".

At least with the phone company they will tell you am/pm

    Fedex "Home Delivery" :mad::mad:

So I missed a delivery last night @ 6:45 pm. They tell me that A) I can't pick it up after hours, B) If I want to pick it up it'll be 24-48 hours before I can do so..."maybe Sat" they said...maybe????

I said FTS, just redeliver tomorrow.

Tomorrow, which was today, has come and gone. So much for the 8am-8pm...8:38pm now...still no sign of the cluster nugget Home Delivery guy. He must have called it a day and hit the strip club for happy hour.

What a waste of a day!! I had errands to run!!

Moral: pay the extra ~ $12 for 2nd day express shipping!!

Take it from experience ALL delivery options and companies F up from time to time. Pisses you off, but the extra $12 does not guarantee you the package on time, even if they say it does ;)

Wow, that totally sucks Tim , thanks for the notification though. I've never tried their "Home Delivery" but I'm sure I'll think twice if I ever consider it..

the thing that really chapped my PALM (TX) is that I couldn't pick it up after hours. Reason being, the FE "Home Delivery" is contracted out to another company...Fedex has no 'real time' communication with them.

seems rather 1984 that it takes 1-2 days to get a message as simple as holding the package to them

My experience with Dedex is that they are more reliable than UPS in not losing your stuff. But Fedex is kind of crazy with the deliveries.

That sucks Tim, maybe you are just unlucky :) I've used fedex number of times and I got my shippment right after 3rd or 4th day without any delays (official Holidays not included).

true on the losing of stuff, though I had fedex loose a $3K piece of equipment once...they were no help at all...thank god the company that did receive it were kind enough to fwd it to me!!

UPS is more squirrelly for delivery times at least for home stuff for me...1pm, 5pm, 7pm...you never know!
yep, unlucky and then some :p
empty boxes huh  what did they say? it must have "fallen" out

I had some blueprints folded in there and they told me that the couldn't waste time having someone walk around looking for them. Luckily I had back-ups or I would have been out a lot of money.

The second time it happened I insured the blueprints for $500 each and they found them real fast.

got to love the backups! I would have been up the creek big time had it not been for that other company as I had grossly under-insured the meter.

I learned the hard way that we should not skimp on shipping charges. Got a package of mine stolen from some unscrupulous employees at my local post office because I was too cheap to spend 10 bucks on DHL.

That's odd, I'd trust the post office over DHL in almost all cases personally.
All depends on the office/location as to which service will be better.

:D well that and their package pickup is sometimes infuriating.

why doesn't the mail carrier handle the pick up requests when he's out delivering? answer: no frickin clue...some jackass comes along 5 hours later to pick them up - like the time it rained and ruined my label...he shows up...so it's not ready? I said it was ready 8 HOURS ago and 5 hours ago when the mail carrier delivered our mail!!!
