I don't know if the people saying no believe in god or not. But if you do, How could you possibly refuse to do something that the almighty creator of everything asked you to do?

Simple, even if you believed in god the wrong question or request to follow can make a person not worship and or follow. ;)

I am christian BTW, am I a die hard, or do I even believe god actually exists is a different story, so I guess raised christian is more like it.

So you know better than god? He put Abraham to the same test.
If you believe in god why wouldn't you think that any action he asked you to perform would be the best action? It doesn't sound like you have much faith in the almighty creator of everythings ability to know whats best.

Blind faith, I myself do not have it, most Christians I know do not have it either. They 'believe' to an extent, to that extent however I bet less than 1% do ;)

You have gone from being a "christian" to not really believing in anything the bible says at all in the space of an hour. With your obvious and complete lack of faith don't you think it's a bit pointless labeling yourself as a "christian"?

try agnosticism. It's the first step to atheism. You can be saved ;)

Did I ever say I was a die hard Christian? No i believe I said the exact opposite

Lack of faith, well then that's 99% of Christians as most would not kill their own child

    BTW what I stated before

I state I was more raised Christian than anything, but yeah that makes me change in an hour, almost...

I didn't say that you did say you were "die hard", I said you call yourself a christian, Which you do.

Personally i think you are using christianity as a badge to wear for public appearances, But in reality you don't believe it anymore than i do. It's a result of your upbringing that you learn towards saying "christian" when asked about your religion, Like a reflex action. But if you were to sit down and look at the bible i doubt you would find a lot in there that you could honestly say you believe or that you can honestly say you think happened.

The only way that this would ever occur is if it was a voice in your head/crazy thought or if you are in a cult and you actually believe someone that tells you god wants you to do it.

"God" aside, If my child was Damien from The Omen I would.

He won't understand - he thinks all Americans are Christians. He doesn't know that you CAN'T be born Christian, it isn't a birthright or religion, it is a relationship with Jesus that makes one a Christian.

It would be like saying I was born in a garage so I must be a car.

Your "religion" is nothing more than the result of you being told that you are a christian in childhood.

I wouldn't call that a belief, I call it being convinced you are something as a child and remaining convinced as an adult, even though you don't believe any of it to be true.

The point is made that some are nominally Christians then there are others that have recognized their sin, acknowledged God's plan for salvation and have been spiritually transformed. It's pretty easy to sort out who is who.

satisfaction has already been made , so there is no way that I can make a sufficient answer to you question. God is powerful so that he can make anything happen to the extent that you can't prevent it from happening.

No offence, its rather frightening that you think of god as benevolent and all-powerful, and imagine him to be asking these sort of favors, at the same time.

Considering God is the perfect example of Power, Wisdom, Justice and Love, if God thought it served HIS purpose and it was HIS will for this to happen then so be it. However, this question is certainly aimed at pricking the conscience. If it were to happen, then certainly many people's faith and integrity to God would be questioned and tested right there and then.

Abraham was God's friend and he was asked to sacrifice his son to HIM. Although Abraham felt terrible about doing so he obeyed God and would have done it. We read that God stopped him at the right time.

In this day and age I can't see (from what I have studied) why God would ask such a thing today.
