Did you click it? I have to agree with what your saying though, those ads are not appropriate for the kids that surf YouTube.
Big G knows there is a lot of cash to get from Adult Market and I don't blame them we can all fall for the money. Its not just YouTube Dmoz is the king of them all..
I was working on a site just the last few days in where we had to pull google adsense ads and put in other PPC ads in place of the Google ads. Just because it would not show any ads on the Women pages.. It would only show public service ads in those blocks. It was a photo rating.. date matchmaker type site.. however no nudity on the site just the key phrase "Hottest". Google would show the ads fine on the Hottest Men and Couples pages but would not show any on the Hottest Women pages.. And now today I see this type of BS on a Google owned and operated website.. WTF Google manard.. Just a wee bit hypocritical are weee.. Huh! G!
I wasn't aware of this until now. They defiantly are 2 faced on the issue. As far as the verifying if they're over 18 argument, it's crap. 1) Then allow sites that verify age to then display adsense, else it's 2 faced. 2) A minor under 18 years of age can not legally be held to any legally binding commitment/contract or disclaimer ( at least in the states, and probably in America junior...Canada ) so the age verification if lied about has no merit.
Yea ErnestHemingway, I mean, It was no big deal for us to change the ads we just used some of the geo targeted datefinder type ads.. Which pay probably about the same or more as G would on that type of site.. In fact, I was actually glad today when google would not show ads on the Women pages.. I was impressed that they were that specific on content and that targeted.. However after seeing this, I am no longer impressed.. It would appear to me that they can show ads of any flavor they want on the sites they own but yet they would not give me an ad like this today on a site that was way more appropriate for this type of ad! I can totally relate to your point about that this type of ad should really not be in a open arena like this where like you said, "Anyone or there young child could easily be on this same site and looking at that type of stuff.. Boulder
Hell, Google said they were banning all E-gold related sites and ponzi and pyamid scheme sites, but on my Earn Money Online forum, we're still getting Adssense ads for hyip scams, and not just hyips (which are all scams) but really sick, twisted hyip scams that have been scamming people for months. They're using free adwords coupons and phony credit card details and if my members click on the dumb ads, we can be in trouble for "invalid clicks". I have over 100 screenshots of the garbage Google is displaying on my site.
Very dissapointing. When we can't have adult or porno on adsense sites, why does adwords be the hypocrite?
Not really sure what makes anyone think this is adult content without first clicking the link. Judging by the link title it could just be for a self help ebook, or anything. Female masturbation is maybe a 'funny' subject but far from adult in the right context (self help, educational).
Heh nice niche i wonder how that converts. I dont really class it as 18+ though, if a kid is to young they wont no what the site is talking about who is it going to offend?
it is for an ebook. ...but not an ad that should be on youtube. site targeted ads are suppose to be approved first.i guess that one slipped by...
