Hi guys! I was wondering if links on bookmarking sites count for SEO? I recently saw that del.icio.us, stumble, technocrati have the "no follow" attribute... So, does that mean that if my website is bookmarked by a bookmarking site user that link will be worthless from a SEO point of view and it won't help you rank better in the SERPs? Cheers, Vlad
I do not think any site with no follow tags helps Seo. It might help yahoo links but not Pr in google.
I have the same opinion but, nowadays I see a lot of people which play the bookmarking "gamble" and I don't know why...
Use tagging by including the keywords into it, that will help you in visibility and search as well. More on this; http://ypnblog.com/blog/2007/09/25/tagging-the-social-bookmark/
Could you name some of the bookmarking websites which don't use the "no follow" attribute? GREAT article! Thanks
Nofollow links helps in SEO because in Yahoo nofollow links are still follow links they just ignore this tag.... Those links are considered as backlinks in Yahoo.. But to Google has publicly confirmed that links with nofollow have no value whatsoever...
Another reason why there are people who adds a bookmark of their site/page on social media sites is because it can boost its traffic...
If the site has a high traffic and full of visitors why not? Social bookmarking websites are very helpful in gathering additional visitors in your site
