Just wondering what is the best affiliate link cloaker for Amazon or Craigslist and if any quality ones are free? And do you actually lose much money on Amazon by not using one?
I don't even use link cloakers. Most people outside of affiliate marketing don't even know what affiliate links are...if you don't beleive me, just ask some friends you know and you will see what I mean.
Depends on what you're selling. If you're selling a Webmaster EBook, you'll want to use/make a cloaker. If you're selling a 'How to take care of Pets' ebook, then not really.
Only people doing internet marketing know the difference between "affiliate link" or the actually link. Just like getarip said. For the free services link cloaker, i'm using clickaudit.com.
The best free way to do is, in my opinion, to create a page on your own web site. Let's say your site is airraid.com. Create a subfolder called recommends, and inside a subfolder for each product you want to recommend. For instance, you want to recommend a site called Google. In your subfolder google you create a simple HTML page with this meta-tag: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://www.google.com/your_affiliate_id"> Now, instead of using an URL like shorturl.com/jkluzano, you could use: http://airraid.com/recommends/google
your right - cloaking is only for techie guys and affiliate marketers that know how to give them selves a discount other people purchasing probably wont know what the referralid=4 means so its really safe - I only use a cloaker to help with clicks and stats and if a link change I can change one thing and not 100 pages
