I have my first product on clickbank and am looking for tips on how to recruit affiliates to promote it. What strategies have worked for you? Do people run adwords to recruit affiliates?
I am stumped with the same thing! I actually have 6 months of history of a great converting site! and just joined clickbank.. finding affiliates is hard! make sure you test your product though and know what your return rate is etc. I think that is huge when recruiting affiliates. I have a nearly 0% return rate.. and I am hoping that helps! what isyour product btw? maybe post it here?
Post something on DP about your product. There are thousands here that do clickbank. You may get some interest.
My clickbank product can be found at www.siteflood.com or via clickbank at http://xxxxxxx.gbh1935a.hop.clickbank.net It is a web site submission and promotion service. I do submissions to 120 search engines and directories, and tag, review, and bookmark the submitted site in a number of popular social bookmarking sites. It makes sense that it would be a good product to promote directly or via a newsletter or embedded link in an ebook. Almost any "make money" clickbank product could augment their direct product sales with this secondary offering.
well, it is a good start to begin in a forum like this one because there are many affiliates here (i am actually going to take a look). another thing that i like and recommend from the affliliate perspective is contacting like web page owners personally with your offer, but make it appealing enough that they would want to switch to promoting your program or include your program. Things like: -conversion tracking -keywords -media/guides/bonuses -higher commissions -personal campaign support i work with a few merchants who do this for me and I would have never promoted them if they did not offer this.
It is very important as a vendor that when you are recruiting affiliates give them the stats mentioned above. I have seen where different vendors distribute the same darm worthless keywords that cost three arms and leg. So make sure you do your own testing first, provide screen shots or even a video of your keywords actually converting into sales, I am yet to see video being used in this format.
some constructive criticism: add more info to your landing page... explain exactly what it is youre doing it give more examples... not one example that looks fake and i didnt even know there were bonuses or anything till i was about to close it, make them more apparent just my 2 cents
The best way to recruit affiliates is the one that is most time consuming and tedious: Researching forums, newsletter lists, websites and blogs related to your niche and inviting them to promote your product in return for "X" amount. Make sure that you highlight the relevancy of it to their user base and provide as much as possible in the way of affiliate material so that they can start an affiliate campaign as easily as possible... text links, banners and at least one relevant promotional article / email ad are a must. Once you've started the ball rolling more affiliate marketers will become aware of your product and will find their way to your affiliate page / center where again you should have the affiliate material waiting for them. It is here that you should also produce a list of related keywords for use in PPC campaigns. Finally, if relevant, try to involve your actual purchasers in the affiliate program encouraging things like forum signatures, recommendations to friends and article marketing. It takes time but as you do more of the above your affiliate program will build momentum. Unless you can clearly define who you are targetting in the search engines I would steer clear of using PPC to recruit affiliates and instead use it to promote your actual product. Hope that helps, Kelvin
I was thinking that I needed to add an affiliates page and give them some banners and other tools to help them market.
Hi, I promote a number of Clickbank products and one trick I use to find profitable products is to assess the affiliate tools offered by the product owner. I also teach other affiliates how to do so in my free report, and it makes perfect sense that veteran marketers will hesitate to market your product if they have to come up with their own marketing tools like banners, ready adwords keywords, article and email content. Think along that line of helping your affiliates and you get yourself some top marketers working hard for you!
Well to try to get things kick started some, I decided to up my clickbank commission rate to 75% for the month of October. I also started building an affiliate page with resources to help people get started marketing my product. It is fairly basic to start, but I hope to add a little more each day. http://www.siteflood.com/affiliates.php
