When do you think paypal will be available in our country (Philippines)? and what are the qualification set by paypal to make it available here? So far we are now peaceful and our economy are doing well.

PayPal has already added Philippines but right now it's "Send Only" country. No one knows when your country will be fully supported but at least you've PayPal now (you can send money)

you never know when PayPal is going to expand to certain country, sometimes they announce adding new countries months early, sometimes they share their plans when you contact their customer support, and sometimes they just add your country without any announcement. At the moment it seems like they are primarily working on EU countries, but I could be wrong.

that is no PayPal, that is pointless way of making credit card payments more difficult.

Yep that's right but at least PayPal accepted the petition Philippians made and added Philippines as send only country. I know it is useless to have a send only PayPal account but I don't understand what PayPal is thinking. They are only supporting a few countries (completely) and claiming to be a worldwide payment processor

You are wrong. Let me tell you why.

People use Paypal because this way you are not exposed to CC fraud, don't need to share your CC details with every online shop, merchant.

It's much faster to send a CC payment by Paypal than entering all your CC info every time you place an order somewhere, sometimes u must fax ID and CC photocopy, you also have to find your plastic card, i don't know my CC#.

Moreover it protects you from illegal CC charges by merchants, it's a widespread scam in the US.

most of the countries in the world are at least send only, so I am sure you would be send only even without this petition.

Well, there are over 50 countries that can send and receive payments, I wouldn't say that this is few.

so you have never been scammed with PayPal? Lucky you!

I think there are only 15 fully supported countries. By fully supported country I mean Sending/Receiving/Withdrawing, most of the countries don't have a bank withdrawal option and this is a draw back.

actually all send/receive countries can withdraw to bank... to bank in USA.
Estonia is also in this "Send. Receive. Withdraw to a U.S. Bank Account." list, but we can also withdraw to our credit cards and I am more than pleased with this option, there is no need for bank withdrawals :D

Well, generally speaking there are more customers than sellers. Although this forum contains more sellers, it does not generally mean that there are more sellers around globally.

People such as me, I am just a customer now and no longer sells through Paypal. My friends and families have paypal accounts and they do not sell anything.

So it actually make sense for Paypal to open up those Send Only accounts because in the world of commerce, there are always more Buyers around. Without buyers, being a seller is useless.

Right Eddy but the thing is when you are approving a country why not give them a complete solution instead of restricting them to have a send only account? Every country has sellers as well and most probably a number of sellers are losing big money just because of this problem. So it's not a solution in my opinion

True but there are things which are beyond our controls or comprehension. I don't know a lot about international banking regulations and what negotiation which Paypal has done with the respective government departments.

In the end, only time will tell.

The send thing is completely useless and I think it is of no used. I think there is no used which such type of services really. I much prefer it if they have added recieving and sending as well.

So, be sure this is clear, when you say "only send" that means a person in PH could buy from out of their country, but an American could not buy from a merchant in the Philippines?

Yes, send only means that you can only send payments, not receiving.
