I am very honest and have been using Paypal for many years and never had a problem. You have to be sure who you are dealing with before making deals. If someone stole your credit card, do you quit using credit cards? No, you get better at protecting yourself. It sucks that Tech lost his money but it was not Paypal who scammed him. I agree with getjimmy that he had to charge back on his credit card because I have never seen Paypal reverse a transaction that quickly unless it was a charge back. That amount of time does not even allow enough time to follow through with a dispute or to ship a product if you were selling a physical product.
I have been using Moneybookers for more than a year - I've even signed their merchant agreement and got merchant status (they force you to manually sign the agreement and send them the signed copy via e-mail or fax) I have never had a problem using Moneybookers - it's being supported worldwide with less fees than paypal but people still prefer it I was forced to use paypal due to the high demand from clients but I will reconsider this though
Yeah, it's a double edged sword...there are wolves everywhere, doesn't matter if they are a peon or a 'reputable' member scammers suck that's all I know!!
Ok, this how it works: You open a new bank account. With this, you open a new paypal account and get verified. You get a new CC. You 'buy' a Plasma TV for $1500. Once the TV shipped, you call your CC company and dispute. They chargeback before the TV arrive. You cancel the CC, the Paypal account and the bank account. You just get a FREE Plasma TV OR You "sell" a Plasma TV for $1500. ONce you have the money on your Paypal, you transfer to your bank account. You close the Paypal Account. You widthdraw the money from the bank and you close it. You just get $1500 for free. No need to send a TV that you don't have anyway. This happened to me and I had nothing to do. I even fax all document I had to Paypal. I lost anyway.
y didn't you emailed them to you know whenever a dispute or charge back is opened provide the details to them through email they will surely take care of tht
paypal really doesnt care all it cares about is getting money from the fees it sucks, but it happens to everybody
I must agree to that. How rude not to at least send a comment back on your proof.Sorry to hear about the money lost.
Really sorry to hear this. Some time paypal really sucks but don't make such a deal with a guy with 1 iTrade and 16 posts.
This paypal people are really not trustable. Some times these junkies limit the accounts, some times reverse the transaction and do all such things which i really hate
Did you push domain in Godaddy If so why you do not contact Godaddy. You will have all files of your site just get domain back and run your site.
If you don't like it, A) Don't use them, or B) Take legal action. It's not their responsibility to get involved with your legal disputes. You know that risk when you choose to sell intangible goods through Paypal (or if you have any business sense you should at least).
that has happened to me i sold a ebay item i ship the item did not have a tracking # so paypal you will back is money that was $500
Happen all the time. Today again. Someone bought an item I sell. He's got it. Today, chargeback. Faxed again all document related to the transaction. And I lost again. The purchaser has the money and the item. If you want to fraud, use Paypal, you'll be covered...
i had same issue once... paypal is so stupid. . i lost a grand because they reveresed it and i had all the proof in the world and paypal never responded back to me .. . .god. . i hate paypal.
Well spoken! There is no one going to watch over you and hold your hand in the business world. It is your own responsibility. Paypal provides a service and you can choose to use it or you can find another service. However, if someone wants to scam you, they can find ways to do it no matter who you use. You can't blame the service for dishonest people.
if you are doing design work or coding...always always have a contract.... ask for half of the cost of the project upfront and then the balance to be payable once the project is completed prior to you handing anything over to the client... That's how I do it and I have had very little problems, and I use PayPal as my primary payment processor Now I would very much consider what jhmattern posted and take legal action... I wish you the best of luck
