Nope, I have read all of the threads since the admin concept was a twinkle in a certain Netscape’s employees eye and I don't recall that one. Admit it Julian, you and Jim made that one up.
Let me see if people should believe you who is afraid to post his editor name and defends corruption or Annie who posted her editor name and it is known to be honest and already confirmed it in this forum, what do you think?
Yeah. If i owned dmoz i'd fire all the editors and run it on my own. I would then review all the links within dmoz and put them in the correct section/remove the ones people bribed editors to add their link in. I would then contact "ShoeMoney" and give him his link back because, since he was there and he didnt pay the bribe to the editor so therefore i'd ask him for details to put him back. I would then review all links coming in and accept/decline most of them. I would then release a public apology online via press releases, dmoz site, popular forums aka. this one informing that i fixed the bribery issue and its a one person job now. = traffic back to dmoz, people happy their links are safe once they are in, people using dmoz again
You must be an editor so why don't you just get on with it. Will settle for the first million by tomorrow. Snap Mr corrupt editall.
Don't fret it n-james, you can get your first 10k++ entries from Topix, then another 10K++ from CNN and you'll be a quarter of the way done by them Anonymously, you must be trying to compensate for something with all the "bigger is better" nonsense...you just drive a fast car and have little hands... And again, why not log out of here with all this talk of little directories and log into your big one to start cleaning it up?
What on earth has that got to do with him cleaning up all the wrong posted sites that he talks about. You sure is losing it, Q. I know you don't like to admit it, but if ODP were not the best, why would anyone bother to try and get listed, Mr Corrupt says that a listing is worth a fistful of dollars, and you guys spend a lot of time trying to destroy something that is a waste of time. Something nuts about your logic. But I guess if you spat your dummy out of the pram because you couldn't get your own way, you will continue to have baby tantrums for a long time.
I'm losing what? What little respect I did have for the project...yeah, I am losing it. But if the changes are on the way, I look forward to getting it back! Though, erm... my comment was to help him get his first million listings, something you suggested. "best" is a matter of opinion, and your opinion is most certainly biased! The ODP is the biggest, and that is it. yes, it does have more listings then any other directory...but then, it's also the only directory with that many CNN, topix, geocities, and yahoo.groups pages listed. It's also the most talked about directory, which a lot of talk does not make it the best either, as by that logic O.J. Simpson was simply an outstanding human back in the days of his trial. *shrug* but then, I guess there is something nuts about MY logic Another point of interest, is how many Editors post using aliases, then give additional nicknames to other members where they are posting. Who is this Mr. Corrupt, and why haven't I seem him post on Digital Point before? Blah... whatever. _____________________ On a more related note, the Alexa Rank has skyrocketed...likely due to all the talking about it dropping before. I mean, those few webmasters that didn't know about it, likely do now, thanks to the likes of MattCutts and others with a vested interest in the Project. Either way, I expect this to continue till it averages out close to where it was before the accidental SERP drop.
No, Q, I suggested he could have the first million cleaned up and the unreviewed sites reviewed by tomorrow. The OP said the task would be simply to edit out all the bad links and mop up the unreviewed.
DMOZ directory is actually very respected by Google, but yes very corrupt indeed. Alexa rank it is important for directories selling links, but IT doesn't apply for DMOZ. Just a thought.. Eric www.egsmartsys.com
And iot is respected because its corrupt or despite the corruption? Care to offer any proof or are we back with smoke and mirrors.
