Pakistan cricket team captain said sorry to Muslims all over the world for losing match to India.

    http://righttowrite.blogspot.com/ ...........writes

As the Pakistan captain, Shoaib Malik came up to speak to Ravi Shastri, his first words were (and I paraphrase somewhat because I wasn't expecting memorable words), 'I'd like to thank Pakistan and Muslims all over the world for their support.'

WHAT??? This is a man the world was listening to. Who captained an able, strong side to the finals in a world-class tournament. Who (supposedly) plays for his country and not a religion.

We've all heard people make derogatory comments about the hush in Indian Muslim neighbourhoods if Pakistan loses a match to India. It is often said that there are celebrations in Muslim-majority areas in Indian cities if India loses to Pakistan. These are rumours that are used as facts in any communally tense situation. But to have a man give them the backing of truth by speaking those words into a microphone was upsetting, chilling, and took away from the rush we'd been experiencing ever since Sreesanth caught out that last Pakistani wicket.

If he believes that Muslims around the world were rooting for Pakistan, where does that leave Irfan Pathan (the best bowler on the Indian side yesterday) and other Muslim players on the Indian team? With that awful statement Malik placed a giant question mark on the patriotism of Muslims around the world.

Some people are just sucking their make-believe god in the hope to be good at their religion. It's good for them both as a short term (their fellow religious men will think highly of him) and as a long term (in their head, being god sucker means more chances to go to heaven)

So nothing surprising, but yes it sucks, religion should be wiped out of the surface of earth, but simply not possible, too many religious people, it's not gonna stop anytime soon!

Yes, most of the muslims thought that it was a match between Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan . I don't think that it was a hollow statement, as some Indian muslims do have that tendency to side a Muslim Pakistan than secular India.

Why take such a small statement and blow it out of proportions? First, you need to know what he meant. He said thanks for the Muslims who prayed for the team, obviously he won't say thanks to Christians because he's Muslims and Pakistani cricket team is Muslim. Secondly, by Muslim he means, the fans!!! As you know, the Pakistani cricket team is religious, they offer 5 times prayer and fast. Good for them. I am sure Indian cricket team has a place for them to pray so good for them. Also, even Irfan Pathan said thanks to Allah for the win, in the press conference. So, just let them live.

Most of the world do not care about cricket. Cricket is only popular in the Indian Subcontinent, the UK, Australia, and Southern Africa.
So, I do not see how muslims (outside of Pakistan) would care that Pakistan lost.
This is indeed a very silly comment that the pakistani cricket captain made. It's only a freaking game!!!

Was it game between Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan? I suppose no ... What was the Muslim comment all about ? Have you ever heard anybody saying thanks christians, Hindus, Budhists etc? As far has thanking allah is .. it is normal for anybody to thank God . Does he meant that Muslims in India who are more than that in Pakistan must have also preyed 5 times for pakistan Team to win ?To you he has not said anything wrong , just because all of you think like that only.

The comment doesn't mean anything at all. It only shows the fear of being bashed back at home for losing a crucial match against the arch rival India.

To analyze this, you gotta understand the situation. A match between India and Pakistan is like a war and losing a war is unacceptable in Pakistan. That fear made him to say so.

He was merely pleasing the Islamists back at home that, Well, we have given our 100%. But since he is no politician, I don't expect him to make politically correct statements. So give the guy a break. they played well, just India played better.

    Kudos to triumphant Indian team...

Islam is dividing the world like it divided India (Pakistanis and Banghalis are Indian), and like Christianity divided Europe in the past centuries.

    This is very sad.

One more reason for free minds to state for ever and ever that god is an invention of humans and believing in those religions makes you a retarded kid afraid of facing life.
If religious people find this offensive, simply answer that what we find offensive is whenever they open their mouth with threads of eternal damnation and other stupidities, so they better respect OUR beliefs because their beliefs are not respectable!

No adult still believe in santa claus so why according any credit to someone claiming to believe in a god? make fun of those believers, they deserve it, muslims jews and christians, all the same lame concepts!

Yeah i'm also atheist, and being atheist doesn't mean not having any values, it only means being pragmatic and realistic.

'God' is not a scientific belief, it's just like Santa Claus, a myth.

People believe in all kinds of things, from instant cash to democracy, they are just concepts to manipulate masses.

We have no God, but we have real leaders, we are not Muslim or Christian but we are real humans made of blood and skin.

We should take care of our planet, its people and its resources instead of arguing over Christian, Muslim, Jewish sects.

This comment does talk about the general psyche of Muslims players, where they expect the the Muslims to side with the team having majority muslims irrespective of the country of orgin of other mulsims.Yes, I admit he could been have been diplomatic by saying our Fans all over world , but the inexperienced captain seemed to have got carried away and spoke his heart.
