Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

How old is the website?

 

Hi,

I thought John Chows website had been PR5 for quite a while now.

 

A PR update can start in October. Otherwise you will have to wait to January. Google like to export in those two months.

 

It's not the only site that has been updated. Some of my domains got updated in mid August, for example campcarole.org. It was fake PR5 before and now is a PR3 since mid August. I have seen tens of sites got updated but the point is still the majority of sites are not updated. Especially high PR ones.

 

Agreed, I too have seen some (fake) high PR sites drop in August. Has anyone noticed any other sites than the Chow blog now?

 

Exactly - SERPs are the most important things in SEO. Conversion rates are a close second.

But, I would hate to see the toolbar PR figure go away. It really is a useful benchmark for SEOers. For example, it allows you to gauge how much "trust" or "authority" Google gives to a specific site. If I were purchasing jewelry on the internet, I would buy from a PR7 site over a PR2 site, even if the PR7 site looked like crap. I trust Google when it comes to the PR #, and a lot of users I know (non-techie types even) have been turned on to the Pagerank value as a way to gauge the trustworthiness of the site.

Since middle of august, it was changes in google ( with "info:" command)

 

I just saw the change in toolbar PR of www.statcounter.com It was PR9 just a few hours ago, now its 8.

 

nice catch, showing as a PR8 for me as well. Nothing on my sites yet. Hope something is starting, but I'll be telling myself it's nothing just so my hopes don't get up.

 

Confirmed. Maybe PR update (or PR drop) has started .

I clearly remembered that statcounter 's PR dropped from 10 to 9 last update!

 

It's a bit weird that the export has started by dropping PR.

 

http://www.easyontheedge.ca/ (I warn you, word-cloud) was PR7... now PR4... been that way since August. They still market the word-cloud at the bottom as PR7, hehe...

Yep. My movie site went to PR4 in August. It has never been higher than PR3.
