Since the current total budget is 600/month, We are looking at 100/month minimum for anyone who would like to join.

You would pay double the amount to existing share holders to purchase their share. This also helps you to protect your share against future investors.

ex: your 300 would get you about 10% of 1500 investment pool(as oppose to 20%).

As a pure investor, your job is then to chip in a % monthly cost, and receive a % yearly dividend.

For people with talents, We count investment and wage separately.
Ex: Michael spends 20+ hr/week managing the forum and gets paid 100/month, he then gets 10% share of the website by investing 50/month.

Everything will be protected legally by written agreements.

Very good question! For the bigger picture, the website is offering 100% free service. This will change when we reach 3k members (a nice indicator for visitors)

Currently, If we did monetize the site now.

auction % fee - The website currently has a transaction volume of 500-1000/day. Charging 3.33% will generates 750/month.
auction additional fees - around 100/month
ads from related websites - I've received several offer of 50/month banner.
    adsense - 50/month

When the site reaches 3k members, these numbers will go up exponentially. You can do the math.

    here is a conservative estimate:

With 1500/month total investment, we will have 3K members by the end of 2007.
In January, The auction starts to charge people fees. And the total revenue would roughly be composed of

auction % fee - transaction volume of 1500-2000/day. Charging 3.33% will generates 1750/month.
auction additional fees - around 500/month
ads from related websites - 150/banner.
    adsense - 500/month

Revenue estimate for Jan 2008: 2900usd

    Current Partnership Composition
    Me - 80% - 480/month
    Michael(forum admin) - 10% - 60/month
    Arthur(a friend) - 10% - 60/month
Cumulative investment by the end of September - 1500+

When new investor joins, he/her purchase from existing shareholders for double the investment already put.

Dakuipje wants 20% of the share.
He pays the existing share holder total of 20% * 1500 * 2 = 600 to obtain the 20% share.
To keep the 20% share, He/she should invest 20% of monthly total investment pool, in order to receive dividend at the end of year.

When the total investment pool reaches 1000/month, As the founder of the site, I reserve the right to hold 50% of share with monthly investment no less than 500/month.

Dakuipje, why don't we talk on MSN: :)

http://mmotp.com absolutely has a USP comparing to others: Community. We don't just want to become a site where people can go there and sell their game accounts, but a community. Do other sites have a forum? NO! Because they've failed to realize that it takes huge sum of investment to start a auction site alone due to the poor traffic sustainability.

I just love these questions. Now let me explain a bit more about the competitions :D

http://mmobay.net is the strongest competitor and my biggest concern. But checking the record, you will see their site was up half a year before ours. The only reason they are having a advantage is because it was started months before our site and has passed the sandbox. With SEO done, Vbseo up(mmobay.net does not have a forum, which will prove disadvantageous for SERP and traffic sustainability in the long run!). We will be catching up with it before March 2008. I honestly don't see any prove of them having big investments backing since their layout is less than perfect for a almost 1 year old site.

http://www.mmobids.com is years old, and has a entry in dmoz which gives it incredible advantage in SERPs. But it only has 10% of my users count as a site that's started three months ago. I believe this illustrates the speed of growth for our site.

http://www.bidnplay.com first of all has horrible layout. If you really get into each category, you will see it's nothing but morphed version of its gold selling site affiliate.

So you think because you have a vbulletin forum you will dominate the market? The fact still remains that noone in this market has managed to dominate it, none of the sites are considered successful because of eBay.

Firstly a lot of people selling their accounts are already members to eBay so it's more convenient, secondly, there's unlimited amount of traffic for their auctions, and there's unlimited amounts of auctions for the traffic. Lastly, there's the added security in eBay that people find it reliable and have used it before, they fear your site because it's unknown. You will need a lot more than a forum and cheaper fees to dominate. People are willing to put up with eBay being pricks, eBay's extortionate fees and eBay's frequent abuse of VeRO in removing perfectly legal auctions, instead of use a site like this.

Forums which offer a 'trading zone' where people can buy and sell accounts, gold, cd-keys ect, seem a far easier and more successful business model for these kinds of products. Partly due to the familiarity (people tend to use these on forums which they frequent) and also because they know the system, it's not alien to them.

I was a interested in investing, but based on this, and the odd looking percentages of ownership, I'm declaring myself out.

    You've hit the jackpot!

Ebay declared it self out of MMORPG Accounts/Items trading at the end of last year. If you go to ebay search for "world of warcraft", you will not see any account/gold trading, but ebook and etc.

This is EXACTLY why it's the best time to invest in the market. The dominator exited the market by itself. Are we going to wait and let other small timers dominate the market?

NO! MMOTP.com will take over Ebay's business in the MMORPG sector.

That is because Blizzard sued them or at least threatened. This is a VERY risky business so please at least inform your investors of the possible EXTREMELY high risk.

You are right. But only with high risk, comes high profit. The risk does not effect whether the site will become successful.

Instead,The risk you are talking about only comes into play when the site is considered complete success. Think about and you will know what I mean.
