Hi, I have been exercised sit up everyday since 2 months ago. My friend said that sit up not a good exercise, because is could be effect on backache. 2 day ago when I wake up, I feel pain in my backbone until today. Is it effect of sit up like my friend said or miss position when sleep? Someone ever happened like me?
I think it's just because of your position when you slept. Otherwise, you should have felt backaches a few days after you've started do to sit ups. --Joe
Just do them effectivly, sit "Indian Style" with your feet bottoms together and knees spread, but a two inch pad under your lower back and do your reps. The best sit-ups you can do.
if you are not doing other exercise, you tummy will only get bigger! You can't burn fat in a specific location. As you Abs get bigger, and your fat remain there, you tummy will look bigger
Correct. I always get a kick out of the guys at the gym who do ab workout after ab workout and wonder why their 'abs' don't look any better. Full situps are also horrible on your back, best to do crunches if you have no equipment. I do cable crunches at the gym. A cable machine, I use the maximum weight and add an extra plate. Hold a rope attachment at my head and then drive with my abs down to the ground. 15 reps of these and you feel the burn! I also do vaccuums, which is simply exhaling all your air then contracting your abs inwards and holding. Decline weighted ab crunches, dumb bell side bends, a few basics that are much better than situps. Reverse crunches are also great, haven't done them in awhile though
i didn't do abs exercise for long time. Instead, i do push up with my feet on exercies ball, squat on a balance board or other exercise that require a lot of balance. (i love ladder agility drills too).
i think it's due to sleep positions and not the sit up itself... sit ups is good for the belly part and to gain abs... a must do exercise.
It's probably not because of the sit-ups. Try a heating pad or pain medication if your back hurts bad. And remember to have good posture when you are sitting. If you have changed computer chairs lately, that can have an effect on your back as well. Give it a while to get better, and if it is still bothering you in a week or two, see your doc. Hope you feel better soon!
I do sit ups for a few weeks not (still need to loose those pounds lol ) and I have never experienced problems with my back before. But I can understand that some people actually will. Try consulting a dokter.
