PR evaporating over summer?

Can anyone explain this phenomen? I have a personal blog and couldn't really give a flying ... fig... about Pagerank, but it is strange that in spring this year I got my first PR (3, I think it was) and when I came back from my August summer holiday it was 0!

Other sites that I have kicking around still have their 1 or 2 PR, even though they were started at the same time and are in my opinion poorer quality than my blog, which is based on original content, after all.

Any ideas what that might be about?

Wait.. G is in the process of updating PR.

and, you need to check your backlinks as you have experienced a PR drop.

I had one site I don't care about drop from a 4 to a 0 about a month or 2 ago (but it still does ok in the Google serps and is indexed.) That's the only change I've noticed since the last big PR update.. whenever that was... Spring?

Hm, I dunno, it's been over a month now. And I don't think there has been a major change in my backlinks, other than a steady increase in relevant ones...

Like I say, I don't really care, I can wait. As someone else commented, I am still in the SERPS but it's kind of weird.

So there wasn't a big update in August sometime? There certainly was where my site was concerned!

That was a false update of your toolbar PR. This was also happen in my blogs. I was shocked when I saw the toolbar PR hitting to 5 but after an hour it will back again to 0.
