You can read the case study for lots of tips. ;)

The most important things to do though are keyword research, on-page SEO and backlink building.

    fantastic results live! Congrats!

And great report on the case study! Many thanks for sharing!

One qns....everyday how much time you spend doing this? submitting...asking for link exchanges...?

I managed to score a couple of no.1 rankings for a few pages for my blog, but felt that it's so time consuming, and the results often are not stable, meaning that they drop off after a while.

    High maintenance in other words.

What's your views on this live?

Hard work = results, its simple as that. When you don't work, your results will drop. It's logical enough.

I have done some initial link exchanges, maybe 15 or so but the majority of my work is in creating new sub-pages. Each time I create a new sub-page I can target new keywords and get more traffic. I have created about 60 keyword targeted sub-pages but they're very easy to create since it's a database-driven wallpaper website. I only spend about 5-10 minutes creating each sub-page, I add on average 1 sub-page per day and don't do any extra link building.

My rankings generally improve with time so if I target suitable keywords for each sub-page I just create the page then wait.

woo...that sounds easy. I don't suppose you submit your site to directories do you?

    No, I hate directories. ;)

Link exchanges tend to be sufficient for me. I have about 15 PR 2-5 backlinks from link exchanges through Google.

    Through Google?

You mean using Google to look for the Contact pages you explained in your case study?

    What's your PR now btw?

The website is a little over a month old so it doesn't have a PR. And yeah, I mean finding link exchanges through Google. You can also modify that query to find more desired results like 'naruto partners', 'naruto affiliates' or as I said in the case study 'naruto inurl:contact.php'.

    According to iWebTool -
    predicted PR - 5 (4.7)
    accuracy - 79.1%
    backlinks - 1,867

    1800++ backlinks! :eek:

    Wow.

    Accuracy...what does that mean?

I see that you listed your link partner's sites on your frontpage.

I am building a new blog from the ground up to be tightly focused on a keyword theme. (That's why this post caught my attention...)

The main purpose of my blog is to provide content about a business...so after following my blog for some time they will sign up with me.

However, I'm concerned about placing my link partner's sites on the frontpage fearing that it will divert readers away from my blog. I know that some links should be exchanged...e.g. I link my present blog to some of my friends' blogs.

But in your case...it seems that you listed every single link partner? Should I do that in your opinion?

And how did you ask for a link exchange?

BTW...great wallpapers you have over there. ;)

1800 is not unique website but unique pages, some of the better websites linking to me would have my link on hundreds of pages. Since it is a PR estimate, the 80% accuracy means that it is most likely PR5 at the next update but only a guess.

I have listed my link partners as sitewide links. The links do send decent traffic to my partners but they are partners, not competitors, they also send me traffic. The main point of the partnerships is the search engine ranking improvements though.

It's good that you're targeting a niche, make sure to target the correct keywords which get a suitable amount of search traffic.

It's your choice whether to do sitewide links or single page links, I like the sitewide links but having so many sitewide outbound links will probably drop the PR of my inner pages.

When asking for a link exchange I simply find suitable websites with contact details then say -

    'Hi,
would you like you exchange links with www.NarutoWallpaper.biz?
    Thanks, Dan.'

Most people reply back saying 'sure'. I got lots of PR3-5 backlinks doing this.
