Thank you i found some answers here too: http://wordsun.blogspot.com/2007/08/does-google-prefer-hypens-or.html thanks
Although now it seems that Google can read words no matter how they're written ( separated by _ or - or even written without any separation marks ), I prefer using hyphens " - ". I've always did it and it worked fine, so I'm not going to change anything for now.
Exactly. Even though Google is meant to treat underscores the same now, why risk it? Plus underscores look ugly.
hyphens all the way. They look better and more natural. Underscores look ugly as dcristo said. I always view hyphens as word separators that make a url easily to read. Maybe not be easily to remember or type in, but it's definitely easier to read.
Hyphen for me.... Google sees hyphens as dividers in URLs and body text, and ignores underscores (underscore is not considered as a divider by Google, considers as separators).
Okay, I switched awhile back to (-) as I was told the same thing, that a hyphen was better than an underscore. However, I have pages on my site that are named with an underscore and that are page ranked...some a PR4. Is it worth it to change those or just let them be? If the long term might net a better PR, I'd be willing to change them. Any advice?
I like hyphens more than underscores. It more convenient to press hyphens and they are also considered as a space for URLs.
