Yeah well I've been researching the topic of C-Class IP's in regards to cross-linking sites and have come to the conclusion that although it seems it's more of a "touchy" subject with lots of skeptacism and no "proof", I bit the bullet and bought some hosting which accomodates 5 seperate C-Class IP addresses for my sites. This should allow me to interlink my sites, with different WHOIS data and nameservers, more prominently than if they were on the same server. Do you think this was a wise move?
I also woudnt do it. But, please if you do it and find great benefits, report it here with a detailed description of your work.
Sure, you'll have more links going to your site, but will your links be on-topic? If one site is talking about Cars and another site talks about Web Hosting, do you think its a good idea to link them up? No, I don't. Of course, you'll have another link to them, but the links aren't related and Google does notice that. If what you're doing is just for "short gains", go for it. But if you're looking to have a structured business plan, think 5 years from now, not 5 months from now.
I have heard you can use one way links and bleed the PR down the line. Take your PR6, link it to your 2 PR4s, then use a link from one PR4 to go to your PR 2 and a link from the other PR4 to go to your PR1 site. I have read this several times. Can anyone here confirm if this is the proper way to do this?
If you feel happy about what you have done then it is wise step only. However, it would be interesting to know what type of results you are getting. Here the question of relevant links will come in picture so let me hope that you are aware about it.
Don't you think Google bots are smart enough to figure out what you're doing? I don't think they need class-c ip and whois data to realize you're building a network.
If your websites are going to serve the same content, then different c-class ips would not make any difference, they will be banned any ways. And also if the content is unique sharing the same ip is just fine.
It's simpler than you think...! There are web hosting ISPs that are able to provide you with multiple IP addresses from differrent subnets. It can be easy for them if they have the resources (IP spaces). The only work involved here is to choose the right hosting company. For this forwarding them the question should suffice. However I won't get into a debate on wether or not this web ninja stealth technique is really worth it. Nobody seems to know.
It's not the fact I will be getting benefits directly from this, but more as a safeguard from the SE perspective. I am building networks and so I want to safeguard those from penalties for interlinking. Google is a registrar so guess what? They can see all whois data whether it's private or not. If two of your interlinking sites have the same whois then G knows about it. I am making a way of creating *seperate* websites which I can then use to create a large network. I'm paying for that privelage instead of putting all my eggs into the shared hosting route which I can always "downgrade" to later on.
I know someone who went to great lengths doing this to hide from Google.. Until i pointed out he was using the same Adsense code on his whole network. Doh!
If Google wants to find your network, then 9 times out of 10 they will be able to (especially if you're running the same Adsense Pub-ID on all of them, who do you think owns Adsense?). Any well-studied human on the internet may do so pretty easily. It doesn't take a genius or a Million Dollar programmed bot. But why would they care as long as you're contributing to their bottom line and offering worthy material to Google's search audience?
