Hey there, I have a question about posting backlinks on www.myspace.com. Many myspace profiles have a PR6 ranking. At least mine does At first, I thought wow.. what a great place to post a bunch of backlinks. However, a friend of mine, who has worked with SEO a bit, told me that posting hundreds of backlinks on myspace can get you banned from the MSN search engine. What are your thoughts on this? Sincerely, Travis Walters
im no seo expert but i think they will help as long as their not "spam" tho i think that new msplink ish doesn't help anyone but spammers ! i hate the msplinks its the stupidest thing i have ever seen ! i like to see what im clicking b4 i click i refuse to click on em!
I thought they started using no follow on all urls. If they are no follow then they are no good for anything.
Hey there, So are you saying it doesnt matter if a webpage links to yours if they have a nofollow meta tag? I never heard of this so please clarify. Thanks. Sincerely, Travis Walters
the say no follow is ignored now days! but not sure if its true I dont know what hype to believe cuz its all hype no one knows you still get traffic but not pr so says! nofollow just tells the bot not to go to the link but that does not mean it listens!
If the link quality is good. the linked pages are related to myspace, or to what the profile's subject (eg. music band) it can do you good. However it seems clear that if the profile ends up in a link farm it will its backlinks will lose in value.
Yep, nofollow links are used on MySpace now. It doesn't technically mean they're not followed, but it means the originating site is saying "I'm linking to this site but I'm not giving it my vote of confidence", so the link won't be counted by search engines. However, nofollow links can still bring you traffic if they're used in the right place.
The nofollow tag will not help you as link by SEs, however it will be very good for getting traffic. Now you have to decide for what purpose you want to post backlinks to Myspace.
