Hello I have found some really good .com.au domains are they worth registering what is the resale value compared to a .co.uk or .com
I think they are good, but they are expensive and you need an ABN (Australian Business Number) but I had a friend that just made up a random number and they approved it...
haha cool......i did not know that you needed an australian business number and they are a little pricey this must be why there are some GREAT domains left
Technically you are not allowed to re-sell .au domains. http://www.auda.org.au/policies/auda-2005-05/ Clarification of Domain Name Licence - Prohibition on Sale of Domain Name (2005-05)
o......okay....no wonder theres a ton of three letter ones still left because the Australian government tries to regulate every thing on the internet and be a bunch of pricks
i had a domain from an australian registrar before lol - horrible experience - they don't allow you to transfer domains either from one registrar to another or even one account to another lol - .au domains only :/ not worth getting
There is no resell market for .com.au If you are found to be selling you run the risk of losing the domain name (unless it's sold as part of a business)
They could be, depends on the domain and tapanp is correct it could be difficult to resell but if you find the right people, there are a lot of aussies here like me
Yep, you need to sell the business along with the domain name. I know a lot of guys that do it, but it's much more work & effort than .com domaining.
strange the registry should keep market open, looks like aus registry do not want to earn from domains.
From a domaining point of view, no they arn't real good because of the restrictions on them. But if you want to make a site they are great because there are still a pile of keywords and really nice domains availiable. They will need to be exceptional domains to appreciate in value alot.
hmmm.....you think that Australia would want to make some money from taxes in the domain market, there loss
