Question about odd traffic boost

    On one of my sites I'm currently doing SEO on (normally recieves about 6-7 views a day) I did some stumbleupon exchanges for it(only about 20 stumble exchanges). All of a sudden a couple days ago it got 144 visits from stumbleupon (according to google analytics). Then the next day its back to normal. Any ideas of what might have caused that traffic boost.

    Since you do stumbleupon exchange your site has been seen to other stumbler page.

    stumbleupon tends to be like that. I had my site stumbled by someone else in a popular (but inappropriate) category - I had about 600 visits from it in a few hours. But just people landing on the page for seconds, then onto the next one. Didn't look at anything, didn't buy anything. A bit like having gatecrashers - though they do any damage - just made a lot of 'noise' in my logs.

    Well duh - I was wondering why the traffic hit all in one day and then stopped all of a sudden.

    Thanks magda - maybe that was the reason
