Pretty much. They will need to write an essay on how zorg links will become part of their family, how much time they will spend on it, how much they will promote it, how they will make sure that their investment and that invested by top bidders does not get wasted.

As much as that is a good idea it's worthless, the new owner may do so as they wish and would not be bound by any short story, you simply do not get to say how a new owner runs their business. ( unless you lease your business or similar then you may be able to enforce conditions )

Regarding existing listings they listed to the terms as per the directory not the owner, so if the new owner wished to change these paramaters then they must take these issues up with the current listings.

I agree with DownUnder, you won't have very much 'power' to enforce an agreement. The real problem is that the first few links are so valuable it would probably be hard for the new owner to keep them knowing that not only did they not get any of the money but they actually forked out $10k's to buy the directory.

I have sold dozens of sites and had agreements with new owners to leave links and they have been honored around 75% of the time, but nothing of this magnitude.

The only time you can enforce rules like this is if you're a franchise like McDonalds or KFC. They own the name and the buyer is simply using your name and you get a percentage.

I think all this will be pretty academic, I'll eat my hat if it reaches the asking price.

It did not get sold. I discussed a deal with someone which totalled low $xx,xxx but i decided it was best for me, the site, and future projects to keep the site

Pleased to know you came to that conclusion. :)

You have done a great job with Zorg-Links and I am happy to see it still belongs to you. I am sure it will come back along with all other directories.

Perhaps it was just not the right time to sell it.

    I'd take the $xx,xxx

U might look back later on and say, I should of sold it.

Hey, I did'nt mean that in a wise ass way but in a helpful way with my real opinion.

But by all means u know your directory's worth, so You'll make the best decision.

NOW, Lol, so if you decide to keep it, why not spend an extra $15.00 and promote it,

    here http://www.directoryjunction.com/bidding-web-directories/

Good to see your holding on to it mikey, to turn down an offer of that level in this currently uncertain climate is a testament to your dedication to the site, a ballsy decision indeed.

Thanks. I have some big plans. The directory will become much more unique, and some features will be installed that no other bid directories have.

    The only way is up:)
