Good investment, anyone?

I see there are many opportunities on the web. I'd like to know if there's a way to invest a few thousand bucks somewhere and to collect the dividends at the end of the year (like the stock market, but on the web). I don't have a blog or time to create one, so my only alternative is to invest and wait. Thanks for your suggestions :)

If you can pick a good website that doesnt need too much work, then yes. Sites are typically going for 10months earnings, if you can devote a little time to it then it can be a good investment. Though I've bought some that completely fell apart, and I've bought some that have made their money back in 3 weeks, so its by no means a 100% safe investment. You can buy a site and profit from the adsense on it, and get a cheque every month.

obviously it is good investment online, dividends pay u once in a year, text links pay u monthly and one good thing is u know if your website is stable it wont value 0 or depreciate so much. stocks might crash depending on companies results and performance. though both are good for long term, its little more safe on the web specially for those who do not hav lot of money to invest.

a stock like google would need $550 to buy 1, if u buy 100 u need $55500 so that becomes huge investment .

if you only have a few thousand dollars, invest in an index fund. I have my money in vanguards Entire Stock market Fund. The Expense Ratio is only .2% which is incredibly low. Expect to have your money in there for the long haul though if you want to see stable positive returns. I am talking 15+ years

Invest in forex with broker of 100:1 leverage. You make (or lose) 100% for every 1 cent on average that a currency pair moves. Feeling brave? Go with 400:1 leverage brokers, 400% for every 1 cent lol.

You can also invest in websites: buy them, get them "renovated" a bit and then sell them off for more. This can be profitable if you're good at it ;)

Have you checked out prosper.com? You can loan money in small increments ($50 minimum) to various borrowers at various interest rates.

I like investing in 'bricks and mortar' - this has given me the best returns throughout my portfolio

As always - a case of investor beware

I think you should buy an established site, and work on marketing it. :)

It is still investing because you're getting more out of it than you put in.

Great advice, it always amazes me how many people fall into these traps when they start wanting to earn money from the internet.
