Content Writing V/S Link Building Which one is a better marketing technique? Which one is more reliable? Which one is faster? (Faster as in, which technique shows improvement in your sites performance faster) There is no doubt that a site's visibility is the most important thing today! Let's think to answer the questions keeping the visibility in mind! I'll go with Content, linking should be because of the conten and the quality information being shared. I believe if you get good content on your sites, other sites will look to link to you automatically! Regards, Aditya
Agreed - both are as important as each other but without content, you do not have the ability to capture natural links. I therefore write the content before hunting for links.
I think both are very important but If you write a great article today , who knows who might link to it tommorrow! Its a chicken egg setup.... and the old line .. Best of Luck!
Both are important, but I'd probably say link building is more important. Of course when the search engines start to send you traffic because of link building, you must have content that appeals to the user and makes him a repeat visitor.
Yeah. I do tend to agree with everyone here. Content first. Its content that helps you work with links later.
The go hand in hand. You can't just focus on one of them if you want t have and generate consistent traffic.
If you have nothing worthy of being read, the only link building will be done by yourself. On the other hand, if you have some awesome content that is worth reading, you should find that link building will be a whole lot easier, as your readers will likely help out a bit. Of course, once you have the content, you'll need to get it out there so people will read it....
If you really write good content, the quality links will come naturally. If you're just worried about the short term, go on a link-building binge. If you're serious about building a long term business and authority site in your niche, content should be where you're focusing (that and networking).
Both have their own importance, writing content is the production part and get in bound links is the marketing part!
Write a unique article to be posted on your website, rewrite this article and submit it to the article directories and there you go, content writing and link building combined into one!
I think that link building is a lot more important than writing. For example I see a lot of websites ranking high in google with little or no content, but with lots of links.
And when surfers click into those sites they generally click the back button and then click into the next SERP hoping to get something of value. Many webmasters today are forgetting, it's QUALITY that the average visitor wants. I find it funny that people often complain when the big G starts to crack down on such crappy practices. yeah, yeah, ya got a thousand links pointing to your site, and you are getting some good PR from it...but for what? PR? That only makes money for link sellers, and honestly, those are starting to show signs of being pretty much worthless. I'm more inclined to report a crappy site as an MFA then click their ads...in fact, I now keep the report button bookmarked in my google toolbar for just that reason.
Your original question was about maximizing visibility. If you only want visibility quickly(assuming you mean SERPS), then get (buy/trade/submit) links first. You can also get links with good content but it takes a while for this tactic to proliferate on the web. If your site has a business goal of some type (ie. generate revenue) you will need the content as well since nobody will interact with a site with poor or little content. Good luck.
