How do you know that it is incorrect. Analytics is not real time and the browser needs to be using Javascript, could that be your problem?

Google Analytics is not and will never be accurate on traffic data. There are way too many variables. The first of which anyone browsing your site that has javascript turned off will not even be counted.

There are other inherent problems with this type of traffic anylyzers too. Timeouts sending data, etc.

Google Analytics is great for trends, but there's no substitute for a quality log parsing program as it will have accurate data.

    I Received This Mail.

    Hello,

Thank you for your email and your patience.

We have received your report regarding the problem with the "Check Status" alert update. Our engineers are currently working to solve the problem and hope to reach a resolution shortly. This will not affect data collection or report generation if you have already tagged your website with the Google Analytics Tracking Code.

Additionally, I understand that you aren't seeing data in your reports, even though your tracking code has been set up for over six hours. We apologize for any inconvenience. We have collected your data since you installed the tracking code on your site, and are continuing to collect this data throughout the day.

We are currently in the process of creating reports from your data. You should be able to see your reports populated with data later today. Please note that this reporting delay is associated with unexpected demand for Google Analytics. Under normal circumstances, the data in your reports will be at most six hours old.

For additional questions, please visit the Analytics Help Center at http://www.google.com/support/analytics. If you're unable to find an answer to your question on our site, please feel free to reply to this email.

    Sincerely,
    Analytics Support

This happens with GA quite a few times, but don't worry abt your data. It is being tracked. And they will show u the data as soon as the issue is resolved.

    I hope it helps.

This is the answer is quoted below, and Google even explains it as well if you read their help. Here is a classic example. A unique visitor visits your site. Closes his browser, and ten minutes later goes to your site again. Your server stats may show this as 1 unique visit or 2 unique visits. It depends on the settings for the log software. Google, I believe, counts it as 2 uniques if it has been more than a half hour. Anything less than just 1. Cookies on/off, javascript, time, whatever.

A couple of nights ago, I watched my own stats as a member voted on over 800 poll generating a couple thousand page views in just an hour. My server stats showed it, but Google didn't show any from him. Why? His java script was probably off.

    Definately watch the trend technology.
