I saw that the guy who did the list of the 100 best online money-maker sites got a ton of links to his list. I'm in the sports niche. If I did say top 20 most influencial sports bloggers, would that generate a lot of links?
im doubting it! for one this guy may have done more than just created a list of 100 best online money maker sites! (He may have promoted his site a bit)Tbh this is a niche filled with wannabe money makers just adding there affiliate link anywhere to make money!
if you made that list, and you contacted the 20 that you listed, and everyone of those 20 blogged about it, that would gain traffic.
Yeah, you would still have to promote the site. I could create a list of the 100 best gaming sites, but that doesn't mean anyone is going to visit it. Why? Because they don't know the list exists. Need to promote no matter what your selling, listing, or talking about
writing about a good interesting subject is key, you have to "social media" the heck out of it to get your much deserved traffic!
I have been wanting to do more of this, but I dont see much traffic from digg and a few other sites when I submit my articles. Does anyone think the the problem may be that boating isnt a rwal hot topic and it just wont get alot of attention from digg and other sites? I need help and lots of it...
Well I would say boating generally isn't a fun topics - although the top 10 boating accidents of all time would be! You have to understand the social media sites out there. Digg is primarily about tech news or funny articles or interesting facts. Where as Sphinn is a webmaster's hotspot so the same content just wouldn't work. Each social media site seems to have areas that particular subjects do well in.
Don't believe when people claim, I just "wrote this post"/"made that list"/"built this site" and traffic/links just magically appeared. There is a lot of other work involved. No one is "window shopping" your site, every single viewer came directly from somewhere.
