Where should I place Link Units?

I am stuck. I am trying to find the best place to place Google Adsense Link Units on my site.

I am looking for placement on the homepage and article pages [Example page].

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

 

well you can place one link unit in the recent post section.

 

I tried that but the link unit didn't fit the formatting and looked really off. I did not let the ad run for any length of time though. Perhaps I should put it back in at run it for a few days.

In your opinion would you place it on the top or below the recent post section?

Place a link unit on navigation may be good.

 

I like adding link units at the top of the main content areas on the pages of my site, just above the headlines for each page, an approach also used by the Gadgeteer website. Works great for me.

 

How about a third column and run a skyscraper in one of the columns?

It is on now. I was getting huge traffic which caused the site to come down.

 

Are Link Units useful? I had them a few month but they generated not much income. They pay only the second click as far as I know.

 

I just placed them on the top of the page last night. They actually are getting not bad CTR.
