my adwords account was recently suspended for breach of google terms is there anything
I can do about it should I just open another account
or there is no other way to get back into adwords, just to add this though
I think it was suspended because I promoted a site that had an exit pop-up I hear
    they don't allow that nowadays

have you actually been banned or just suspended?

On a suspension you may have a chance to plead your case but Big G's ToS specifically states No entry or exit pop ups! On any Landing page.

But one can only try )

Wanna hear something crazy... I got an email from google telling me that I couldn't promote keyword elite because they "generate adsense" pages...

I still see it being promoted by others, who don't know this new rule... and I'm sure they're cracking down on them soon. So beware if you're promoting keyword elite, you could get suspended.

nope.. current advertisers will more than likely remain unscathed. Only new advertisers will be affected if my past experience is anything to go by.

I was trying to promote a particular item since March, and every time I'd get knocked back to the point were they threatened me with suspension of my account if I tried to submit again. And each & every time I've emailed them back a copy 'n paste of 25-40 ads currently running on their network with that service with a similar lander. And always the same canned response:

"Our AdWords Specialists review all of the ads in our program. However, ads may run on Google before we check them. Therefore, you may see some ads
appear for a short time on Google that do not comply with our guidelines. We assure you that we are working diligently to apply the same criteria to
    all of our ads."

Which is pure BS, as I've pointed out to them each time, with proof, the same advertisers/urls who have been running for months. But they choose to ignore. Their arrogance (or ignorance - take your pick) is astounding sometimes. But what can you expect from people who can only read a script.

Adwords is notorious for grandfathering accounts. Meaning their scripts are only checking on new account set ups and applying current rules to the new accounts. That's why you'll still see ads for products that shouldn't be there. It is very rare that they will go back to old accounts and apply new rules. Recently they did this with Bingo sites, but that was rare.
