Hello friends, im looking for an easy category generator for phpld v 2. . I need some suggestions, thanks.
I would recommend you to use the licensed version of the script and benefit from the high end, user friendly mods available. One such mod is: Phpld Version 3.x Category Generator
you can go http://www.iollo.com/cats/phpldcats.sql OR http://www.directoryspy.com/downloads/category-dumps/
I like the one provided by DirectorySpy But as told many times before, never use the dump as it is. Try to make as many changes as you can to make your structure unique. (Or close to unique)
http://www.ripenapples.com/Category-Generator/index.pl Works with 2.x as well, just make sure you uncheck the `For phpLD version 3.x` option.
I found a db, MySQL dump 10.9 . This is an easy way to do this task, just copied the db via phpmyadmin, and....done! Many thanks for all suggestions!!
The best category generator is 100% free and it's been around longer than any conventional category dump. It's called your brain, the best and only good category generator.
Why rush it man, it takes a lot of time to make a good directory, so why not spend a few more hours to make a good category structure
I found a good category structure, just do some modifications and this saved me a lot of time to spend in tasks with more importance for my directory .
It gives potential contributors more options. Makes a lot more sense to use a dump and to customise them as you go along.
Ah... maybe I should have looked into this before I spent the last 4 hours creating categories by hand for my new directory (blog directory in sig) ... but in a way I'm glad because I think it'll be a bit more unique than most. But I'm worried about leaving out some important ones... I guess I can always add them if I have to. I actually was trying to do a few less categories than I've seen elsewhere because I saw many of them were empty - or there just doesn't seem to be a lot of blogs in some of these areas.. so no point in having it have it's own category then, I figure.
