Firefox to IE: Firefox is good I will not put it down. And it is head to head in features with IE. But the reason I continue to use IE is it offers a lot of integration with Vista on a hold and it has a couple security features IE does not have.
In fact, that integration is a bad thing. It means that any security holes in one part of the operating system affect everywhere else. So a security problem in IE affects everywhere else. Doesn't sound like an advantage to me. Firefox is also more than just head to head with IE, it is ahead in terms of features.
Not really. It depends on the bug and how the OS in written. In XP that was the case not so in Vista.
i currently use vista across 4 x 19' screens as I am a developer/designer. i have 4GB of Ram and a Dual Athlon Processor and the os performs really great, no crashes yet and overall I am happy with Vista Business but i have a nice machine that can handle the memory hogging. I am old enough to remember the days when XP was introduced over Windows 98 and I am also old enough to remember the Windows 3.1 days and when WIndows 98 was introduced. We are talking here the same conversation when those OS's were introduced. You young pups will be loving Vista in about 5 years when the next major OS gets rolled out by MS, dont worry.
Oh really? What do we need to have Vista run fast? Something like this? 8 GHZ CPU Double Quad Core Trio 64 Gb Ram 8 Gb Vid Ram Is this enough to be "standard" hardware to run Vista?
No, Pentium 4 3.4 3Gb Ram 512mb Geforce 6800 80Gb Sata Seagate Baracuda Will run it perfectly! 2Gb of my ram is off ebay aswel!!
I use Vista... haven't had any big problems. One or two programs didn't run right out of the box but that's about it. 2GB RAM, E6300 CPU. Runs pretty snappy usually.
Excelent point. I was talking to a GeekSquad technician (from Best Buy) and he was telling me the same thing. Give Vista a year and all who curse it will be bowing at its feet so to speak.
I'm still chugging along on my XP Professional. I've only got 512 Megs of ram. Would I need more? Otherwise I got a Dell Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz
VIsta is a full waste of money and resource , many say that 1 Gb is enough for vista , but they are wrong if u are a power user and require some software to run in the background as 2 or 3 messenger antivirus firewall fire fox ftp client web editor etc... then 1 Gb will slow the overall system .Windows xp is much faster (proven in benchmark) and much more reliable,Windows vista has only some new future with nice user interface this why newbie like it
I'll list the programs i could run all at once with vista and 2gb of ram, filezilla dreamweaver fireworks msn messenger myvnc c# developer visual developer microsoft word smartftp my documents ie firefox opera remote desktop All running fine without any lag, So newbies? i don't think so what about the new performance tools, theres loads of thes, the only people that don't like vista are the people that can't use pcs, if you don;t like the vista graphics turn them down!! Simple!
I have nothing against vista, just vista don't or unable to allow me to do/run some software I be able to run in winxp/ win2k. Ironically, I may like vista more when I found vista can run majority of the softwares I am using compares to xp/2k.
Except for two of the programs he mentioned. I run all those on Vista with 2GB of RAM and its A OK. Nothing seems to be down.
No, the people who don't like Vista are the people who actually want to get something done with their pc. Vista uses more resources than XP, It is a fact. Just because you can still do what you did on XP, if you spent out on a sufficiently high-end system doesn't make it any better. You'll actually find it's the other way around, the people who do like Vista are generally the newbies (your words, not mine) who can't use a pc but can admire the "cool" graphics on their very expensive new toys.
