My Favorite thing From India

Hello everyone,

I moved out in the "country" about three years ago. Since that time I havent been able to get hold of my favorite smokes unless I take a long trip. Recently I did take a trip out of state and on my way I made a stop to pick up my favorite smokes.

My favorite thing from India are bidis. I smoked them exclusively for years, but where I live now they are impossible to find.

Anybody else enjoy a good bidi?

 

I do. Smoked them while I stayed in Saudi Arabia for awhile. Of course they were imported from India. You smoking the 20 pack or so with the guys face on the outside of the paper wrapping?

 

What I am smoking now are the TajMahal. It is a small pink pack with 20.

 

My favorite thing about India is the food.

 

oh yea u wont get those bidi in usa,

though im non snoker but i see its fav of many, there is also another brand "501"

 

Im glad i just googled what they were, ive seen them years ago in the UK, i used to work in a place where we would unpack Brassware imported from India and the butts of those smokes were often in boxes. We also used to find dead flies and insects that we hadn't seen before.

Those smokes were tied just like how ive seen a few moments ago too.

so lots of bidi lovers here.. Yes bidis are favorites of many people since they are less harmful than cigarettes. However, bidis are a bit crude than cigarettes and make your lips to burn (turn them black). There are some states in India, like Haryana, MP, Bihar, etc. which score top in bidi consumption. Bidi is basically tobacco rolled and tied into tendu leaf (available towards eastern parts of the country). In India its a poor man's smoke since they are very cheap and cigarettes are quite expensive as compared to them. I am a non smoker, but know the thing.

 

I prefer Djarum's.. except they're from Indonesia right?

I am from India, Bidi is so populer here, you can find so many bidi lovers on road with their bidi and matchbox. Sher Bidi is most popular here.

Well, Actually one of my close friend does trading of cigarettes,bidis, cigars etc.

 

oh man you suck bidi,i really hate it,i take cigarette.

haha aren't they little things that you get in quantities of 20s for as little as 10 cents ?

 

if you are talking in dollar...let me explain you US economy has gone & Indian economy has risen.....Hense $ has gone down in comparison to Indian Rupee, Hence today today 20rs is more than $0.50.

You can't get bidi's taste in cigarette.

 

Sher is also my favorite brand of bidi, but I havent seen them in a while.

I pay US $2.40 - Over half of that is probably taxes

 

Here you get a package of 120 bidis for something like 20 bucks ...thts like half a dollar!
