Is There A Check System At DP To Prevent Unneccesary Giving Of Negative Reputation

I see lots of loyal members here in DP who would not tolerate anybody breaking the rules of the forum. Its a very nice system of giving negative reputation to such people which would result into an infraction and would cause to ban the spamming member from the forum. However, there could be the other side of the picture as well. There could be, and I am sure, would be some people having a notorious attitude which would inspire them to give negative reputation to some members unnecessarily and without any reason. Is there any way that DP checks that people do not give negative reputation to others unless they have very solid reasons to do so?

 

First Negative reps can't lead to infractions & Bans

Second no there is no such option so you will have to be careful out here and don't make enemies or else you will end up with lots of Negative reps and a red reputation box (that sucks)

 

Dp doesn't check that. if u think one has given u a -rep without a reason either pm an admin or just ignore it.

 

Ok, but i was under an impression that negative reps would cause to a ban or infraction. Just another query then, what impact does a negative rep has??

 

If you have less than '0' Reputation points this box will be red and people will think you are a big jerk

 

i think it turns grey first and then red.

 

I never had less than '0' points so I'm not sure about that. Would you like to help me with this? Just get less than zero points and let me know if it turns 'gray' or 'red'

 

I just went through the TOS and it said it would disable all your links including signature, etc. if you get the red..

 

Why worried ?? Just come up with good posts and some freebies and you will get a good number of positives (green reps). Just a note: Asking for reputation is not allowed

 

yes i think you are right.. people would get lots of greens if somebody keeps on posting some good stuff and distributes some freebies in the forum.. fair enough..

 

I'd hate to disagree with you on that but I am living proof that rep abuse can get you banned. Trust me on that one

 

so you got banned because of negative reps or rep abuse (giving away lots of positive & Negative reps??)
