There was a time in 1910 or something when rupee was more equivalent or more than a dollar , well it was during the british rule .
It's not good for Canadians though. That's what the fuss is about. All my income is US based and I liked it alot more when I got $1.20 for every dollar. Nothing is getting better for Canadians even though the economy is "getting better". What does this mean for the average person living in Canada? Living expenses are going up at an alarming rate. Intrest rates are going back up fast. Things are looking worse. Not better..
Well... in fact: it depends. It's good for Canadians who buy stuff, but definitely not good for those who sell stuff... now it's good time to buy everything that's being sold using USD
Also I forgot to say one point... a depreciating US$ is good for importers.... so as a webmaster we can also take advantage of that.. that is you can invest some money now for promoting ur site so that you pay less units in ur currency... for example.. I used to pay around 4600 indian rupees last year to buy a hosting that costs $100 Now the same costs me just 4000 rupees.. thats over 13% less cost...

Exactly. Plus, with more Canadians going down to the border to shop, it will just cause prices in Canada to decrease, not throw our entire economy out of whack. It just means the corporations gouging us (look at cars, the same basic ones cost about 10k less in the USA than here) aren't going to be making quite as much money.
India rupee is going strong too... Good news but bad too (i want to exchange INR with my USD ) getting very low price
I don't think the difference would be significant to lose sales to products up here in Canada... it'll just make vacation less of a burden when traveling down there since we don't have to worry about expensive prices anymore
Good and Bad for me. Good because now my Canadian dollar matches US and I can go down to buy some stuff. Bad cause i got a portion of my money on paypal. But I think eventually the USD will go back up. Maybe it'll take a while though.
