Just looking for creative ideas here. I want to be able to pay some one in Ukraine that doesn't have PayPal or anything like it. All they have is a Visa card. My bank won't let me transfer $$$ to their card an I'm not giving them my CC number to charge me. If any one has a creative payment option I'd love to hear it. thx,
Most banks now have them gift card / credit cards that can be purchased for a few dollars and then have balanced added to. Most of the time they are Visa or Mastcard, sometimes you see a few AMEX, but maybe that would work for them. Mark
Here some ideas off the top of my head to help you send money to that person in Ukraine: Western Union Money Gram iKobo Money Order Personal Check Postal Check Bank wire transfer (if they have a bank already or can get one if they don't)
Because one can't use Xoom to send a payment to the Ukraine when Ukraine isn't on the list. Read the OP's first post. Otherwise, Xoom would be a better option than WU for sure. But in this case it's not even an option. I personally wouldn't go WU over the other options as it's probably the most expensive.
money that you send by usps mail will go to feed the family of postal clerk that will handle your mail in Ukraine. The easiest way is to use Western Union or MoneyGram. Both are expensive, MoneyGram has less locations and a bit cheaper. But in any case if you want to send 50 bucks, the fees will be $10-15, so for small amounts it is hardly practical. Webmoney is a very popular electronic currency in former Soviet Union countries. You can try to convert from some other system to webmoney at some of their official dealers.
