Hi all, I am considering to open a directory network. I had a proxy network in the past. Proxy sites are good in terms of money, they get you instant money, but I closed the network due to hosting issues and lack of time, I am currently running some tutorial websites. They are going ok, I am earning about $60-$75 per month with those websites. But I want to earn above $500 per month, I have seen money guys here on DP sell featured link on their directories for $15-$30, I am also considering to start directory websites. I'll like to mention can easily get my websites at least PR 4 in 2-3 months. So DP experts, I want to ask you that is there any money in directory websites, is it worth trying or just a waste of time and money? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance DC
Belive me my friend, directories arent earning lot of money if you dont invest a lot of money in it...
hey SEOdir.net, thanks for your reply. Personally I don't like the idea of investing a lot on websites. I always prefer natural traffic etc. So can you please tell me, how much and for how long I'll have to invest in order to earn solid $500 per month?
You can invest in one dat some $xxxx and wait to the next pr update but you need to be carrefull for the google, they van ban you. You can also spend $xx, 1 link daily in a quality directory etc... But you need to invest very big money to get $500 monthly from the dir and with natural traffic you will not get it for sure.
I would of thought this was a bad time to get into that business, when there's so much discussion about google penalising paid links
i agree with Seodir.It is not easy to earn money from directories.Untill you have spend few thousand $allrs And the big G don't know wht they on mind considering the number of increase in directories.
Just because everyone here makes directories, made for adsense sites or proxys, it doesn't mean you need to. Be smarter then the rest and build a long term business. You could sell information products which can easily make you way more than $500 a month. Theres other types of sites you could do to, but they usually require a more expensive investment.

First of all you will not be able to get the PR you mentioned in 2 months as Google updates it's PR toolbar once every 3 months or even more. Second...expect little or no revenue from your network while the sites are 0-6 months old. Third... you'll have to invest quite a lot of money without any guarantees Directories are not quick earn sites
Thanks loredan for your suggestion, I think I should change my mind, I don't want to spend in fact risk a lot of money. Seem like I need to find some other niche.
