Till yesterday everything was fine at least from Yahoo side, but today when i checked yahoo today for back link count, its low for all the directories!!! Example can be checked from directories which were listed here for more than 100k backlinks - http://www.avivadirectory.com/downloadblog/?p=309 Here are the updated results for some of the directories, including DMOZ too - Directory ------------------------------------- Before --------- Present backlinks http://www.dmoz.org/ --------- 4,632,835 ------- 609,916 http://www.business.com/ ----- 2,318,784 ------ 328,719 http://www.alivedirectory.com/ 1,913,153 ---- 612,769 http://www.bigweblinks.com/ -- 1,153,339 ------ 400,817 http://www.relmaxtop.com/ --- 955,902 ---------- 65,251 http://www.avivadirectory.com/ 862,289 -------- 272,939 http://botw.org/ ------------------ 526,158 --------- 78,004 http://www.romow.com/ -------- 524,656 --------- 253,679 http://www.linksjuice.com/ ----- 456,509 ---------- 82,291 http://www.dirsensei.com/ ----- 438,394 --------- 198,421 http://www.2yi.net/ ------------- 419,353 --------- 127,172 http://www.haabaa.com/ ------- 383,166 --------- 131,714 http://www.sevenseek.com/ --- 376,523 --------- 119,214 http://directory.v7n.com/ ------ 363,854 --------- 50,337 http://www.directorydump.com/ 326,338 -------- 134,161 http://www.allydirectory.com/ - 314,700 --------- 80,161 http://www.ewebpages.org/ --- 235,551 ----------67304 http://www.nobledirectory.com/ 96,754 ---------- 21,217 This is a big drop in the number of back links for all the sites Is yahoo too filtering all the links?
And now the main thing which i checked just now. Their Yahoo Directory too - http://dir.yahoo.com/ Previously had 339,030,616 back links and now has 15,696,701
Why is everyone behind directories, Now after Google we have Yahoo... I just checked mine also. there is a drop
I think they are displaying the correct backlinks to a site Before this change if you are using Yahoo api,you may find a huge difference between backlinks found by siteexplorer and backlinks by api.
Yes. My non-directory site has seen a large decrease in Yahoo links this week. It's now lower than the links total at Google Webmaster Tools.
zorg links went from 66k to 27k I wonder what changed. Perhaps some sort of suplemental addition - so sitewides on pages with no content dont get counted perhaps it was just a glitch...
Yep it is fluctuating whole day! My directory backlink count was 21k, and now 58k http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/advsearch?p=http://www.nobledirectory.com&bwm=i&bwmf=a&bwms=p
I don't think it's due to sitewides.. i'm not too sure. But one of my newest sites is showing 200k+ links, but there are some sitewides from large sites....
So what' about all this ADO? Yahoo updates backlinks preety often. It can last 1-2 days. I think tomorrow at least all will be updated again. For linkforever.net I noticed: yesterday: over 400K today morning: dropped to 96K and now: again raising: 250K http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...orever.net&bwm=i&bwmf=u&searchbwm=Explore+URL
Either they are changing their algorithm... OR they will come back again soon.. But yahoo is much better than google in backlink update frequency.
Well, the stats seem to be back again. Chetan, i think Jeff hasn't updated his blog since a month or so. Coz last i kknew that alldirectory.com had 400k backlinks on yahoo siteexplorer and not 314,700 And what i see is, that it's back in the stats now: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/advsearch?p=http://www.allydirectory.com&bwm=i&bwmf=a&bwms=p So everything was a temporary glitch
