Till yesterday everything was fine at least from Yahoo side, but today when i checked yahoo today for back link count, its low for all the directories!!!

Example can be checked from directories which were listed here for more than 100k backlinks -
    http://www.avivadirectory.com/downloadblog/?p=309

Here are the updated results for some of the directories, including DMOZ too -

Directory ------------------------------------- Before --------- Present backlinks
    http://www.dmoz.org/ --------- 4,632,835 ------- 609,916
    http://www.business.com/ ----- 2,318,784 ------ 328,719
    http://www.alivedirectory.com/ 1,913,153 ---- 612,769
    http://www.bigweblinks.com/ -- 1,153,339 ------ 400,817

    http://www.haabaa.com/ ------- 383,166 --------- 131,714

    http://www.directorydump.com/ 326,338 -------- 134,161
    http://www.allydirectory.com/ - 314,700 --------- 80,161
    http://www.ewebpages.org/ --- 235,551 ----------67304
    http://www.nobledirectory.com/ 96,754 ---------- 21,217

This is a big drop in the number of back links for all the sites  :(

Is yahoo too filtering all the links?

I think they are displaying the correct backlinks to a site

Before this change if you are using Yahoo api,you may find a huge difference between backlinks found by siteexplorer and backlinks by api.

Yes. My non-directory site has seen a large decrease in Yahoo links this week. It's now lower than the links total at Google Webmaster Tools.

zorg links went from 66k to 27k

I wonder what changed. Perhaps some sort of suplemental addition - so sitewides on pages with no content dont get counted

perhaps it was just a glitch...

I'd give it a while before jumping to conclusions - yahoo backlinks often flucturates

I don't think it's due to sitewides.. i'm not too sure.

But one of my newest sites is showing 200k+ links, but there are some sitewides from large sites....

Either they are changing their algorithm... OR they will come back again soon..

But yahoo is much better than google in backlink update frequency. :)
