Has any one ever had there site submit page come up as a phishing site this is the response I got from Microsoft
jminscoe, aside from your current issue, im seeing your images and text overlapping your form fields (in firefox) not sure if your aware of that?
Yes, IE7 seems to be able to flag any form as a phishing site without warning to the site owner. The first you know is when people stop using your form. If Microsoft are going to brand a site as a phishing site they they should have the decency to contact the site owner to inform them of this fact.
I don't see "phishing site" alert but you certainly have some layout problem both with IE & FF. You might like to have a close look.
ok I think I got the overlap problem fixed @ Fastian it shows as a phishing site in IE7 not sure about any of the other IE
in the field where it asks you to report the site... Thiers also an owner confirmation link where you contact them and they will look over the submit page and return back as it happened to like 30 off my directories when they where going live with thier "live search". Takes about 24-48 hours after you contact them. thx malcolm
I did just waiting now for them to update I think maybe thats one reason I haven't had any submits to that site lately as normally I just go into admin and approve or dissapprove links
Well its the filter that was acting up and i complained immediately when someone informed me as i use Firefox browser an not IE. They changed and fixed the submit pages on all my network directories that where affected within days off my contacting them. thx malcolm
That sucks. If they falsely accuse you of phishing you lose a heap of business, and your reputation is damaged no matter what they do after the fact. Surely that's libel? One of the acceptable defences against a libel lawsuit (I believe, IANAL) is to publish a full apology somewhere where everyone will see it. Ask them to do this.
Well i didnt say i was happy either They got an ear beating from me with the possibility of a lawsuit They got my entire directory network done in 3 days so... ill check yours in IE and se if i can find the page where you add the info.. UPDATE: i see not warnings on IE7 or thier newest whatever that is.. you do have news feeds on that page and messed up at that.. thx malcolm
Thanks for checking. I do have IE7, but I never use it. (How often have you heard that from webmasters?) I think you've got nothing to lose by pressuring them for an apology, and it's the only decent response they could make. I'm sure their phishing filter could ruin a lot of businesses, because even though webmasters don't use IE much it does have a huge market penetration. They shouldn't add websites to it lightly, just as you don't go around libelling people willy-nilly and expect to get away with it.
I took the news feeds off that page altogether and I agree they should make a public apology but you know they won't I use both IE7 and FF and if it wasn't for someone browsing my page I wouldn't have known at all as I added the deep links to it so they were checking it out in IE
Good they dont belong thier .. "apologies" dont and wont happen/exist as thats an admission of guilt in any civil "court of law" and is an open invitation for lawsuit. im trying to find the page for you to contact them now UPDATE: https://phishingfilter.microsoft.com/faq.aspx A. You can immediately submit a request for a correction. Microsoft Phishing Filter has a built-in, Web-based feedback system in place to help customers and Web site owners report any potential false warnings or blocks as quickly as possible. In Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Live Toolbar, from a yellow warning, click Report this site as safe or from a red warning, click Report that this is not a phishing website. This will take you to a feedback page where you can indicate you are a site owner or representative. Follow the instructions and provide the information on this site to submit a site for review. Once a dispute is submitted, a team of graders inspects the site in question. All disputes should be submitted through the Web site reporting process to ensure the quickest resolution. if anything you may find answers thier... thx malcolm
