DP forum being copied.

I found something very odd, this forum MacCvs has copied posts from DP.

 

at least they didn't choose an obvious username to post them with

To be clear, they are using DP's RSS feeds; all legitimate.

 

I saw like 4-5 boards using DP's rss for the free content,

I've been trying da exact same thing here. Easy content. Now geting da traffic is another story!!!

Then you got http://www.king-of-da-wackos.com/ which iz a completly different story!!!

 

I can see how Digitalpoint benefits from this because you include their link to the actual full thread, well in your forum it does anyway, but in the one mentioned in the first post of this thread it only includes a link back to digitalpoints thread in a handful of the threads that I looked at on that site. I looked at about 4 and 1 had a link back and the other 3 had no links what so ever making it not benefit digitalpoint at all. They should be giving credit back on every post they use.

 

thats nice, there are so many clones of dmoz, it will make dp more popular.

 

let them copy and get them into supplemental index.

There are hundreds of boards which grab content from RSS and there is nothing wrong too..

This is a standard feature in Vb 3.6+ anyway

Ok, but there are only threads, where are the comments if they're grabbing content through RSS? also the admin is showing his Posts: 6,525, whee are his posts? It looks something suspicious to me.

I run forums myself ( Webmaster Ones ) and copying posts from another forum is just plain silly. DUPED CONTENT

 

Who cares, lol. It's just an RSS feed, and crap sites like that aren't worth discussing.

 

i guess he gives up links to the urls, m sure most traffic would come to dp, doesnt really matter.
