I'm running an offer and it seems to be doing well. The problem is that I'm using adwords and I'm paying out more than I am making. I've started an email campaign that is due to begin soon. Any suggestions on how to rein in adwords? Right now its looking like its a catch 22: Without Adwords = No Traffic, With Adwords = No Profit.
If its the QS that is killin' yah, you got two options.... make a better LP or should a say build a mini site around whatever you're promoting or try YSM and MSN....they get less traffic but the QS isn't as bad as Google (yet)
I don't think its my landing page, but I may be wrong. Tell me if this is poor performence. Today for example at the time of this posting: 27 ad clicks 17 clicks on the offer link on the landing page 4 sign ups Todays ad costs: $8.76 Todays revenue: $6.00 I could throw more money at it and get more clicks....but again there is the profit issue. Am I being too conservative with ad investment maybe?
I started an email campaign using one of the advertisers here on this forum called ExpressBulk. I hope I get some good results out of it.
You really don't have enough stats to make any kind of decisions yet. But try lowering your bids below your current break even point, which is .22 right now.
its all a numbers game play with it untill you get the profit which may mean less traffic but its all about ROI!
That's kind of any oxymoron lol. But yeah I agree with others, you need much more data than that, I'd try dropping you bid and see how it affects your position.
I meant that its getting a lot of clicks and attention, but its costing me too much. I lowered my bid but I got almost no traffic. So I moved it up slightly. I'll see how it goes today. As far as email campaigns go, how soon can you expect to see results from it? I got an email notification yesterday that my emails had been sent, but as far as I can tell it hasn't generated one click. Do email campaigns require multiple mailings or something?
Well things seemed to have turned around! I lower my bid to .13! I noticed that the majority of my clicks were coming from the content network, so I don't even bother with search anymore. That's great since my QS is crap anyway. Yesterday I actually turned a nice little profit.
Don't try to be #1 or #2. Positions 3 to 7 may bring less traffic but many times can have a higher CTR. That's because people who scroll down are usually looking for something specific and if they click on your ad, then your ad caught their attention because you have something they want. Oh yeah, you might want to also expand your keyword list. Grabbing up more longtail KW's can bring your CTR and profits up. Good Luck TxDon
I agree everyone here giving your advice. Figure out your profit margin and lower your bid and stick to it. If you are losing money and conversion is low, you can try ysm or adcenter. You would be surprised that same keyword will cost lower on yahoo. Do more testing.
don't forget to keep an eye on your keywords that don't convert. Turn on pixel tracking on whatever PPC you are using and take a look... How are you doing today?
