Hi login, you say that burqa is not an Islamic clothing then why do you say men have to wear it? Let me explain, in Islam, both the women and men have to dress modestly. For women, they have to cover their body except face/hands, also the clothing should be loose so not to reveal the shape of body... for men, they too have to cover up the body, and they can only wear shorts that go below the knees, also they can't wear tight clothing and men have to control their gaze just like women.
If it was equal for men and woman both had to wear the same clothes and to hide the same body parts. But it is the woman that have to hide the most. I talk about the areas where burqa is used, not about islam. In the areas the burqa is used the rules are not so strict for men.
maybe they will after you wear dress... ( i assume you are a male) one of the purpose of cloth, in my humble opinion, is to make different betwen male and female. so at least, i never make a mistake ask a man for a date... just from what they wear
How about if they are equal the same burka for men and women and women can wear women colours: pink, purple, lilac etc. That why you can still be sure you won't be dating a man.
thats nice suggestion i hope anyone from top islam community reads this, they might just consider different colors. may be they wont take up the white one, would be scary during rainy seasons
