Is there a tool that will tell you how many time a keyword or keyword phrase is search for on Google?

Not exactly what you're looking for, but you can try Google Trends. It will show you which one of two keywords is more popular on Google searches. I use this tool to see which word is popular when i pick new domain name.

Do you mean for your own site? If that's the case then you could try Google Analytics. I get a real good picture of what's coming to my site and what people are looking for...

Overture tool is out of date and its database has not been updated since last 3-4 months. So don't use that. Google Adwords tool is good for search volume estimation.

i thought january was 8 months ago. :p
google, yahoo, and msn stop supporting such tools.

adwords just shows the search volume compared to other keywords and trends is the same thing except it is dates.
neither will tell you how many times it gets searched.
    ...so the answer is no.
