That's still not much, considering walking at a gentle pace looking around. I hit the gym for at least 1 1/2 - 2 hours daily, sometimes 3-4 hours, I also do much harder work then 'walking' All and all it's still not much.
I'm not going to argue about how long it take me to exercise. I don't find the need for me to exercise that much. You used around 1 1/2 - 2 hours to exercise and you still think that doesn't enough? You'll overwork yourself!
Yep walking is the best exercise. And since I get lower back pain from sitting in front of the computer...Yoga helps in tackling that.
I'm not saying it's not enough for me, I'm saying your little walking isnt' much Not enough to say it's enough w/o need for the gym if you want to be in decent shape
Thanks for the tip! Since my BMI still normal, I guess I never think about it. Whatever, I'm not going to say more about that either.
BMI is crap, I hope nobody actually goes by BMI for if they are healthy or not. According to BMI I am obese, BMI is useless and no indication if you are healthy, in shape or not.
I am also big boned. I mean have you seen my calves? BMI is crap right OTB (off the bat) in that muscle weighs more than fat anyway! I drove by a gym once
Yep, plus you could have a ton of fat, no muscle but according to BMI be healthy. It's just simply a bad indicator that way to many people actually believe means something.
Sounds like an interesting workout! I'm just the opposite. All I do is the cardio. I wouldn't mind doing some weight training, but the gyms in this area are just not worth the time. It all depends on what you are looking for. You are doing good for your body (and the environment) by walking to work, but 5-7 minuets isn't enough to have a big impact on your fitness level. It's going to be good for your body, but it's not going to help you lose weight or build muscle. The first 30 minutes of cardio just burns calories. You don't start burning any fat until after 30 minutes.
I used to (am gonna start again) do push ups continuously, so first day I'd do 20, next day 21, then 22, either way I got to 75. I only did push ups once a day but when I began I couldn't do 20 without having a lot of trouble. When I made 75 I was like wow, no idea how I did that but it's pretty sweet. Btw they were non-stop, this went for all my exercises. Gonna do some shadow boxing or whatever they call it right now actually.
Its really good to see that a major group of people are engaged in some kind of physical exercise. Let that be walking, running, wt: training, or boxing. Do you know swimming is one exercise which gives workout to all parts of the body? How many of you do swimming?
I worked out at gym for around 3-4 months and I've not been to gym for 3 months now. Thinking to start from tonight (yeah ) though I'm lifting light weights at home so I guess I'm doing something And yeah swimming is the best exercise. I've a membership of local canoe club and I'm learning new tricks daily. I just love swimming , wish I'd my own swimming pool
hi dear all, I not workout in a Gym, I am doing daily Meditation ( Pranayam ) for mental, spiritual health.. thanks
I voted for yes as I use to do the weights and hit just over 14 stone at one point with muscle mass. I have lost most of that though and just exercise now by having a jog now and again. Don't actually go to the gym though as I do it all at home. I'm about 12 stone now.
