Got my laptop!! :D

Hey guys and gals,

Last night I bought my lovely laptop! (first one!) It's a HP Pavillion DV9574. Specs are:

17" Widescreen
Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0Ghz 4MB Cache 800Mhz FSB
2GB PC-5300 667Mhz RAM
Geforce 8600M GS 256MB (Upto 1GB with Turbo Cache.)
Windows Vista Home Premium

So far, loving it! Still in the proccess of getting all programs etc installed (loads to do! ) but it's great.

Tested Doom 3 on it VERY briefly, could run on Ultra Settings at 1024 (didnt have AA on though, need to try with that.) Also need to update drivers.

Hopefully will post some piccys later, so watch out for them! (Very sexy laptop, worth it. )

Yeah design will be on use (Photoshop, maybe 3d modelling etc). Yeah will post some piccys later!

Congrats! But for graphics, I say it's better not to use widescreen. But the specs is good.

 

Aweeesome specs, I'd die for a laptop like that. I'm hoping to save up for one sooner or later and maybe get a really good one for gaming because I play alot of games. Yes, please do post some pics, I'd like to drool all over them!

 

Yeah I know, I have to run games at 1440x900 or it looks stretched which means I have to lower graphical quality - but i'll see if there's a way around this.

And here are the long awaited piccys! But first I must say, these really DON'T do this laptop justice, and the quality doesn't help (2MP Camera phone). To see the true beauty of this laptop, you have to see it in person.

Cool laptop. You can easily play games that require lots of ram and videocard power.

It's a very nice laptop - I reccomend it to anyone after a nice 17" notebook at a good price. Going to try Farcry on here in a bit, see how it runs.
