Does CJ require a W9 before sending out your payment?

Do they have to have your W9 for any amount of payment, some networks only require it if you make above a certain amount. Last month I made $200

I can't see in my account anywhere if I already sent it to them or not. If you didn't send in your W9, would you know? Would your account be disabled or anything?

Should I just fax it in anyway, my payment method is direct deposit and tomorrow's the 20th so will I get my payment tomorrow if I fax in my w9 today?

    Thanks

No, they do give you time to fax it in and you should get paid this month, though most new accounts are audited as well.

You SHOULD fax it right away though. If you forget later on they will NOT notify you and there is no way to really check whether it's on file or not. Then they will hold a payment down the line until YOU contact them first and they will say "we need a w-9 for you" and you will have to wait to get paid until it's processed.

So the best rule of thumb is just to fax the w-9 immediately. :)

Thanks for the quick response. I went ahead and faxed it in. I hope it's not gonig to be a problem, I wrote, "attn: publisher payable" at the top on my w9. I wonder if they're going to let me know if it's going to be a problem or not.

I believe that CJ requires the W9 form before sending ANY payment - at least this has been the case in the past. I can't verify whether this is standard policy though.

Really though, the best way to get answers to these types of questions is by talking to CJ directly. Give them a call (US Headquarters, Client Support) - http://www.cj.com/about/contact.html . They're staffed from 6am PST to 5PM PST.

Actually CJ does NOT require a w-9 immediately to pay any payment. I can attest to this for the last 3 accounts I opened personally. I did fax things over within 90 days however after that.

Is CJ the best affiliate place to join?

CJ, Shareasale, and Linkshare are basically the top networks in this area. Though there are a few others that have gotten some large merchants as of late.

I'd consider the big 3 to be CJ, Linkshare, and Performics. Shareasale is a legit network with some good merchants, but you won't find nearly as many large, nationally-recognized merchants in Shareasale (http://www.shareasale.com/out-programs.cfm). That being said, you'll more than cover your bases with those 4 network.

If you want to start out with just one network though, go with CJ. I have accounts at almost every affiliate/CPA network out there, and I'm still exclusively working in CJ right now (Linkshare's interface is horrible, take too much time to get simple tasks done).

My account balance is now at $0.00 in the reports it says for last month $200 is closed. Although I haven't received a deposit in my bank account, does it take a day for the deposit to go through? Should I be considered and speak with them?

    Thanks

Click Payment History under your balance, it'll say whether or not the transfer has actually processed. Depending on the bank, it may take a few business days for the money to show up as available balance in your account.

I've been with CJ for a number of years and had quite a few payments. But just recently they contacted me and said I need to send in a W-9.
